Tonight was a tough loss I know, wasn't the best way to end the season.  I was actually disappointed in our preparation for this game, I thought we should have did like we did the last 5 minutes of the game, and that's use our bigs and attack the rim.  I made a thread and said Mike was out coached, some say that after every game, but this is my first time ever saying it, because I don't think he get's out coached often, but it happens to the best of coaches.

With all that said, we had 22 wins this season, swept a Kentucky team that's currently in the sweet 16, won 3 road games, and 1 neutral site game, and won a post season game.  That's a lot more than we've accomplished in a while here at Arkansas.  And with potentially 5 out of 6 of our leading scorers returning, 2 PGs coming in, and a defensive stopper that red-shirted this year becoming available there's a lot to look forward to next year.

It's been a fun ride this year debating with some of you guys.  I hope none of you ever took anything I said personal, because I never meant it that way, I have love for all Hog fans, whether we agree or disagree.  Looking forward to next year!

Quote from: MaconBacon on March 22, 2018, 10:30:04 amWe had a good run in the 90's and one NC and now the whole state still laments that we are a top seed program and have kids standing in line to come to good ole Arkansas.  We're just a flash in the pan boys.

Well said.  Enjoyed this season overall, despite the infuriating moments like the first half shooting tonight.  I'm already excited about next season.

Breems

18 ---> 19 ---> 22. Nice progression.

We relapsed into 2012-2013 mode at times this season, but we played some of the best basketball I've seen since Weems and company left town. It was refreshing to watch some postseason, even if it was cut pretty short. It was better than wasting a #2 seed at home like Georgia and Missouri.

I hope we get back to the tournament next year.

My favorite memories of the year....

1. The Qualls buzzer slam over Kentucky.

2. The big, big road victory over Kentucky at Rupp.

3. The Ole Miss blowout

I'm pretty satisfied... If it weren't for my k state bud at work who's going to give me crap tomorrow and say we suck.

But yea, I had some good times watching this team and wish I could watch them play more.  Can't wait to see our team next year.

I enjoyed posting with you all, blu, breems, hamboney, bbstheman, thanks for fighting the rational fight.  Fcj, thanks for trying.

Nah.   The complainers will be back after the first practice.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Love is blind when you are a hog fan.  You want to think your basketball team is good no matter what.  But this hog fan has realized something:  We did not deserve an NCAA bid, the simple truth is this: we are not a very good basketball team trying to play a style of play that only Nolan could coach and Nolan is not our coach.  I feel sorry for Mike, he does`t realize that everybody else these days welcomes the chance to play him, especially when he is the visiting team.   He has little chance with what he is trying to do.   The record speaks for itself.

Just tell your bud we beat UK twice when his sissy colored purple cats couldn't do it once.

I'm here now! Next year will be more of the same, a bubble NCAA team.  People that wanted the last years of Coach Richardson are getting it in large doses.  When we were signing great "athletes" (i.e. Wenbos Mekubu) instead of basketball players, these were the results we were getting.  Last night should have been the final eye opener for people, but sadly our fan base will continue to scream, "Hawgbawl!"  You would think that the logic of "just plug Pel in for Donovan and the train keeps going" sounds stupid, but the "plug Anderson in for Nolan" scenario is equally foolish.  Enjoy the roller coaster.

Solid season of improvement tons of baby steps.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Having the misfortune of living to close to Lexington for the last few years.......sweeping Kentucky and winning before 24,000 bluebloods in Rupp makes up for about five truly bad performances at least.  Since Calipari is their coach, maybe ten.......
Certainly not where we want to be........but closer.....

All too true. It has to be a sad life for them when nothing ever goes good.

Actually I think (know) they just don't like Coach Anderson and no matter what they cannot acknowledge that this was a much better team on floor for the Hogs than last years team. If they had made the tournament they would have complained. Round of 32 would not have been enough. Sweet 16, should have been Elite 8 if Mike could coach. If this team had won the national championship they would have been complaining about the team next year because of recruiting.

Now that I think about it, it probably doesn't matter who was coach, they were going to complain because that is what they do. A few are just trolls and they are easy to identify but some really believe in their complaints.

If SMU wins tomorrow, then the Hogs would beaten three out of four teams in the NIT Final Four. Coupled with beating UK twice and it is really perplexing why the Hogs did not perform better this season. Not saying this season was bad, but the results should've been better.
