for those of us who don't know the rules, what exactly is a normal recruiting visit? what goodies do they get to experience and/or take home when they leave?

also, what do we do differently to stand apart from other universities?

thanks!

True.  What about the neck beard?

Looks shaved to me.  Either that or he's not quite a real man, yet.

See you later Fayetteville! It was fun visiting! #WPS pic.twitter.com/IrggZtFOm5

Why would anybody on God's green earth go to Oxford over Fayetteville? Maybe my opinion is because I'm from Fayetteville but my family is from Memphis. There is absolutely nothing in Oxford to have a guy enjoy himself for 4 years.

I'm no expert but I know that like most schools we hand out lots of free razorback gear (Nike gear is expensive) so that's pretty cool. What's unique is we take them to the catfish hole in front of tons of raging excited hog fans, never heard a recruit say that didn't like the catfish hole - it's kind of legendary. We also take them to hog basketball and baseball games depending on what time of the year it is. They go on campus tours and I think they are escorted by good looking female students if I'm not mistaken (all schools do this I'm sure). I think the catfish hole is our signature event. Like I said though, I'm no recruit and certainly no expert. Hope I maybe told you at least one thing you didn't know.

I didn't even think of that, but I know all the 247 experts think he's Arkansas bound.

I hope they're right!

While this is true, I don't think it's enough to justify going to Ole Miss.  There are beautiful women everywhere, and besides, the last few times I've been in Oxford, I didn't really notice any difference.

Prettiest girl I dated was from Ash Flat, Arkansas.  Small town preacher's daughter that eventually graduated from the UofA.  Ole Miss ain't got nothing on Arkansas girls!

Consolidation way back. I played against them in Junior high in the mid 70's and that's what we called them.
Way, way back...  ;) I played against them in the 80-90's and we called them Highland since the school actually encompasses Hardy, Cherokee Village and Ash Flat and sets right in the middle of them all, not telling you anything you don't already know.  How could they not find it on a map?  Some people these days...

As for the picture, I don't see how anyone could spin this as anything but positive news for the Hogs.   :razorback:

The biggest myth in the SEC, they have some hot women there, no doubt. But, they have very hot women at UGA, AU, Bama, LSU, Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. If that is what young men want, and most do, you can find hot tang on all the above SEC campuses and unlike that hell hole, pos Oxford. Athens,Baton Rouge, Knoxville, Columbia, T-Town and Fayettnam have culture and much more of everything, than the darn hole that is Oxford, Batesville, Holly Springs. AU? meh

Most of these guys were born about the time Houston Nutt was hired. At most they were about 9-11 years old when he was fired. I doubt they know that much about Houston Nutt.
I was referring to boring, one-dimensional offenses like we had this past yr.  I referenced hdn based off the fact that all we did was run the ball while he was here.  I'm aware that the nutter hasn't gone thru these kids minds.

Chris is Will's brother. Wingo was with the Falcons during training camp but they cut him at the end and he got picked up by the Bills and was on their practice squad for most of the year but at the end of the year he was active and played in several games.

Ronald Jones the number 2 running back in the nation.

Where do you see him as the #2 RB in the nation?

Tusks

That's why they pay be$$er.

The irony I find at oxfart is that they probably do the best job a creating sorority swags and they are a cut above.  The problem is the way they are being groomed they wouldn't give a poor football player from a farm in mississippi the time of day.  They are strictly looking for QB material.  So most of the guys that go to ole misery for the girls don't stand a chance with the ones they fall for while their on their visit.

Same with the grove, recruits walk through the grove and think its the greatest ever.  Never mind most will never tailgate there and the ones that do will be relegated to the corner.

Sell the sizzle not the steak.

If Gragg were to commit today, we'd move up to 4th on 247's team ranking list, right ahead of FSU.  The only teams ahead of us would be A&M, LSU and Alabama and they'd all have more commits.

rusvegashog

That is freaking insane. Not that I think for one second that we would finish fourth in recruiting, if we finish in the top 20 that would be incredible in and of itself. But imagine finishing fourth in recruiting in the nation, but still finishing only fourth in our own DIVISION. And this is our geographical and historical cross to bare. SEC SEC SEC
