We'll split with them, I think. I have watched them a couple times. Good offense, bad defense. I think we will beat the spit out of them at the Bud and then behind their crowd beat us by a few in Columbia. They thrive off their crowd it seems. Very emotional team. Like their coach.

Guys I want to believe but I think lack of a true point guard keeps us outside the top 4. I sure hope I am wrong. We are much improved.

In conference play, I'll take us at 4th-- not because we're 4th best, but because of matchup issues with teams we will fight for the tiebreaker.

Honestly,  9 to 14 is like scooping a bunch of dog turds in a bag, and picking them out at random.  There isn't a decent team in that group. A&M will be the big mover in that group, next year, but for now...meh.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Kentucky has the talent yes. They are showing their youth because they only play for 25 minutes a game lately. They should have lost to Cleveland state and truly were outplayed.
A couple performances like that and they lose an SEC game or 2 at home. On the road, probably lose at the Bud on 1/14, at mizzou, at Florida + another one with a half-hearted effort.

14 wins in conference wins it. Can the hogs do it. I'll be a homer and take the Hogs to win.

Dominicanhog

We'll finish Top 5 with at least 10 wins, maybe 12 wins if our guards shoot a little better.  That would get us to Top 4.

Hey boys, its been awhile. As a big mizzou fan i hope i am wrong, however having watched so far let me say i am totally unimpressed with my tigers. Looks like a team full of transfers. Which of course they are. Very little desire to play defense.

Agreed but it may be another year before they become competitive because Frank is pretty well having to completely rebuild that program.

I dont think martin is the greatest coach in the world, but with the talent UT has this year I dont see them 5th or 6th as many of you are predicting. Plus, I want to see us win some road games before I say anything as bold as hogs in the top 4. You have to learn how to play on the road and we have zero experience on this team in doing that

With positions 3 to 6, there are a number of tiebreakers that are going to split apart a bunch of teams from 11-5 to 9-7.    Saying Tennessee is 6th in that lot is mostly saying that you don't have confidence in them to have a lot of edges in those head to head tie breakers, rather than saying they won't be any good.

Martin is a flat out terrible coach, though.  He is the biggest handicap that Tennessee has-- there is enough talent on hand that a run at 2nd wouldn't be shocking, under a better coach.

They will be better, eventually.    I think they do a bit of Arkansas football this year, though-- they bottom out, while Martin tries to figure out just how to rebuild that mess from the bottom up.   They and TAMU are more likely to make big strides next year.

What make you believe so highly in Missouri? They lost all of their leadership and playmakers.

hamARchy in the USA

Last year the call was for a finish in the 6th to 8th range and the team came in 7th.   Since last year the expectation for this year has been for a little less underachievement to a little more underachievement.   With MA's track record showing the teams at his two previous schools having their best seasons in his second or third year a reasonable expectation for the current Razorback team would be a finish around the top of the 4th to 8th range.  If the team becomes competitive for the title then MA should be secure going into next year.   Either way, this year is the probable high water mark for the Razorback program under MA.

Says who? Former 5* Jabari Brown and Tulsa transfer Jordan Clarkson are still there. Both are definite playmakers.

They've looked better in stretches, but were positively handled by an up and down Clemson team, and while giving Baylor a game, when Baylor flipped the switch, they'd storm out ahead.    The results this far have to be considered encouraging.    Their win over FIU is not good-- they let a team in the 200+ projected RPI range hang around too long--  FIU even led them at half.

I make it a habit to watch them play a lot. They are fun to watch.

They will simply outgun the majority of the SEC. As HA mentioned, the Clarkson kid is a real play maker.

Another disastrous day for the SEC:

Drexel 85, Alabama 83   -   Alabama falls to 3-3, although they've played a tough schedule. They are not very good.

Georgia 71, App State 53   -   Wheeeee, Georgia snapped a 4-game losing streak that included losses to Davidson, Nebraska, Temple, and Georgia Tech. Yikes.

Memphis 76, LSU 69   -   Not a terrible loss, but LSU (4-2) is now 0-2 against decent competition. Losing at home hurts. Memphis is about as good as California.

Missouri State 73, Texas A&M 67   -   The Aggies were 6-0, but hadn't played anyone. Missouri State sure isn't anyone, but now A&M isn't undefeated anymore. Aggies play SMU today, worth watching if you want to gauge where SMU is.

Tennessee 64, Xavier 49   -   Strong win for Tennessee (4-2, one of their losses was to Xavier), but they still lost to UTEP. Their ugly style of play still limits them.
