Back in the early '80s a couple friends and I were fishing on the Little River between Millwood lake and the Red River in Fulton. We rounded a bend and saw something swiming the river up ahead of us. We eased up to the critter, within a few feet, and there were no doubt in our minds that it was a wolf. He was roughly twice the size of a coyote. We watched him climb up the bank and he stood  watching us for a few seconds. One of the guys I was with who ran nets on the river said he had seen the wolf a couple times before, and often heard him howl at night over a couple year period.
