Prayers to the family of Officer James Lockard.  He was killed while deer hunting north of St. Joseph, MO. on Sunday afternoon when high winds toppled a tree onto him.  He had just shot a deer and was headed to it when the accident occurred.  My son is a member of the KCPD SWAT Team and had trained with Officer Lockard.  Talk about a freak accident; winds up here were gusting up to 40+ mph for both Saturday and Sunday.

Prayers sent but what a way to go.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.
