I know Auburn is bad, but damn! They gave up 72 in the 2nd half!

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

They scored more in the second half than most teams scored all night.

Glad to see Northwestern get the win.
McConathy is an old high school buddy of mine - really good guy.
Happy for him.

They were down 14 with 7 to go, went on a 14-2 run to bring the score to 62-63.  The SEC has 7 games tonight and this should be the only challenge.

According to RPIForecast, 26.17% of our RPI will be based off our own winning percentage, while 40% will be based off the collective winning percentage of the SEC, only driving home even more the importance of the league doing well tonight.

Reference to the Vandy - Butler OT game.

Also, who a team draws to play twice in the SEC plus the SEC-T affects RPI.

Gah.  We could have used that win.  Dammit, Vandy.

Ouch.  I haven't seen UTEP, but on paper, you have to expect UT to win that game.

Grant needed to win at least one this week, or the early heat on his seat was going to start.

I'm a bit shocked by their poor showing-- normally, they are at least hard as nails defensively.

Another tough, 0-fer night for the SEC.     Someone has to win OOC games, against teams with a pulse.

For context-- the best wins, by team, this year:

Missouri-  doing good work, but against forgettable early competition-    Northwestern is probably it.
Ole Miss-  Probably Georgia Tech;  maybe Penn State.
Kentucky- Soft schedule, by Kentucky standards--  their win over Providence will probably pan out.
MSU-   I have no idea.   I wouldn't categorize any of their wins as top 200 RPI sorts...
Florida- FSU.   They had 2 shots at ranked foes, but lost both in close fashion.
TAMU-  See MSU
LSU-  Butler.   Tougher schedule than most, but not quite there yet.
Tenn-  Split with Xavier; beat Wake.  Best name recognition on wins.
Georgia-  TAMU/MSU like.   Wofford, for now.
Aub-  Ten. St -need to win their next v. Illinois.  Still have Clemson and BC, to close 3 game stretch
Vandy- Lipscomb, I guess.    Maybe Loyola-M.
Alabama- Texas Tech
USC-   FIU, I suppose.  4 games.  Won both v. bad, lost both v. pulse.
Ark-  Minnesota, SMU

It isn't just a one or two team problem.   These first few weeks of December will afford everyone at least some opportunity to make ripples.   Have to hope for the best.

Kentucky can give the conference a great bump, if they beat #20 Baylor next.

It seems the Drexel Dragons are snakebitten.

For the second straight season this team will not have its strong backcourt at full strength for most of its season due to injury.

On Monday, Drexel announced Damion Lee did indeed tear his right ACL last week in Manhattan, in Drexel's loss to Arizona in the NIT semifinals. The result of the tear means Lee, a junior, will sit the entire season.
