Kentucky: According to the Austin American-Statesman, Texas State defensive coordinator Craig Naivar has accepted the special teams coordinator job at Kentucky.

Vanderbilt: According to Vanderbilt 247Sports reporter Chris Smith, Utah State defensive line coach Frank Maile has accepted the defensive line job at Vanderbilt.

Daryl Jones is leaving his position as UGA's Director of On-Campus Recruiting. No reason was given.

"After serving the past two years as Director of On-Campus Recruiting for the Georgia football program," Jones said in a statement on Wednesday. "I will be pursuing other opportunities going forward, (and)  I would like to thank Coach Richt for the opportunity of representing the Bulldawg Nation in that capacity.  I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Richt and all he stands for as a head coach, man, and leader of the football program.

"I enjoyed my role in the two top 10 recruiting classes we signed and want to wish everyone involved with the team nothing but success in the years to come."

It was Jones who came up with the idea of sending hand-drawn portraits to recruits autographed by Mark Richt...

FOIA: LSU's Steve Kragthorpe will make $150,000 a year, one-third of his previous salary, under a new contract that began April 1 and ends in March 2017. His title is now "special assistant to the head coach/chief of staff for LSU football," the contract says.

Coach K has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

As soon as June Jones resigned from his head coaching position at SMU this week, rumors started circulating around Jake Spavital as a potential replacement. The Texas A&M offensive coordinator addressed the rumors Tuesday, calling it "an honor" to be mentioned, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. There's still a lot of football to be played this season.

That got me thinking, though. Who are some of the other young, up-and-coming coordinators in the SEC? I've lost count of all the jobs Kirby Smart has been linked to. Both Jeremy Pruitt and Kurt Roper are new (again?) to the SEC this year, but it might not be long before they're both head coaches. And Rhett Lashlee isn't much different than Spavital...

Report: Houston Nutt 'would take... SMU job' if offered

You can officially consider Houston Nutt's hat tossed into the Hilltop ring.

SMU went the retread route with June Jones and that didn't exactly work out, so it's hard to see them going that way twice in a row.  They could, though, do a lot worse on the field than Nutt.  Off the field?  Yeah, there's that.
