We have had 5 hens move on to the farm this summer.  No one remembers ever seeing turkey there before so it's pretty exciting.  How do we keep them from leaving?  What foods/cover do they prefer?
If gun control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome. http://heyjackass.com/

I already hit the coyotes year round.  Can never get them all but we do keep their numbers down.

Around my dads, they like open wood lots...pine thicket with a mix of hardwoods.  Get a deer feeder and pour the corn to them.  Also, get all the possums and coons out of the area you can trap.  They will eat every egg they come across.

One other thing.  Put a fence around the feeder.  It will help keep the hogs out.

#1. Kill every Coyote you see!

... and bobcats.  I saw one carrying off a huge hen last year.

If you feed them they will come.....and stay for that matter.

Feed them and make sure they have water.  Thin out the Predators.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

If the birds have a roost tree on your property you're good. Food, Water, Roost  and they are content

Try to get rid of predators of course. Game cameras are good at catching coyotes, possums, coons, and cats - find out when they are moving and either trap or hunt them.

How you gonna win when you ain't right within?

plant chuffa . they love the stuff but they still will move a lot . every deer season we see 50 to 100 but by spring they are scarce . we have lots of oaks though

I have the same problem. I watch turkeys all late summer and fall. See them all the time and lots of Trail cam pics. Seen large groups of hens up to 30 and gobblers up to a dozen. I have tried everything I can think of including food plots, but late winter they just vanish. Can't even find a track. Very frustrating. Every year I think maybe this year they will stick around. I am convinced some turkeys have wintering areas and spring/summer areas.
