what kind of tree is this?

The outer shell is very sticky and soft.  Any ideas?

I guess I should have searched a little bit more. Its a: Foxglove tree family: Scrophulariaceae. Its nothing special.  I was hoping it would be something to feed deer.
The crazy thing is the web says they are native to China.

A lot of plants in North America are native to China.

Yes, they are native to China.  Many trees and shrubs in the US were brought here for landscaping purposes.  Here in Anchorage, Choke Cherries are taking over.  The city tries to erradicate them, but the darn things are all over base, so the birds eat them then continuous reseed the city.

Looks like a catopa tree! It might have some great worms on it to fish later!
