The roster for 2013 is on the school's athletic website.

Wise Jr, Hodge and Gervasi put on a lot of weight. hoping it's muscle

Chris Smith said he was up to 270 and still has his speed. That's huge and he doesn't look 270.

That, and you used to work at the carnival guessing people's weight.

Shout out to players with big weight gains: Arkadie, Benton, Charpentier, J Collins, Cook, Deacon, Gervasi, Hatcher, Hawkins, Hodge, Johnson, Horton, Hurd, DKT, Lewis, Ollison, Philon, Smothers, Sprinkle, Stringer, Taylor, Thomas, AJ Turner, Voelzke, Williams, Winston, and Wise.

Is there any doubt Bielema is wanting some bigger lineman?

Players who have had to lose bad weight and gain back good weight (guessing by the numbers): Beck, Bennett, Linton, Loewen, Tevin, A Turner, and Ward. A few big guys and surprisingly 3 secondary players. I remember wondering about that in the spring that a lot of the secondary guys had lost weight. Could that have been some of the reasoning behind our poor play last season? Who knows.

Players who have lost weight: Tate, Small, and Atiga.

BA has added some weight, but Austin showed the sort of gains you expect a freshman to make in his first year in a better weight program.

Arkadie and Arinze have added a ton of weight, 27 and 15 pounds respectively. 15 pounds is a lot for Arinze as he has been working out for a longer time. Hoping both of their weights are from muscle. Arinze likely is. However, 27 pounds on Arkadie may be a bit more than just muscle. Granted, if he is in weight gaining mode, then it makes sense that he would gain some fat as well. Worrying too much about that would limit the muscular growth. I.e. he needs a calorie surplus. I mean, he could consume just enough to rebuild the muscle, but the odds of hitting that exactly are nil. Instead, if he undershoots, then that will limit his growth. He may trim down to about 305 or so during spring practice before beefing up some more over the summer so that he is 315 or so of actual muscle by fall camp. Just guessing though.

Boyd lost a good bit of weight?

Brignoni is up to 206, which is probably fine considering his injury. He has been moved to LB, however, so I am guessing he still has some more work to do.

Coleman, who is still at S, has made some nice gains up to 207.

Carr also has lost a fair bit of weight. Perhaps Smith is looking to have a lighter, faster linebacking corp, or maybe he didn't work out hard enough? Too soon to tell.

Collins at 216 is really nice. Wouldn't surprise me if he played at a bit more than just 200 last season. Could be playing at 220 by fall.

D'applonio has also put on some weight.

Finally, Dean is almost up to safety size at 198. Similar to Austin, made a lot of gains from true freshman to sophomore in the weight room.

Ellis has put on good weight and Evans is right up there with the other RB's at 222. Now that his RS is used, I wonder how much we use him? His HS tape shows a guy who doesn't really stand out at anything, but doesn't really have any glaring flaws either.

Flowers has added a bit, but not a ton. Gaines has dropped about 10 pounds. Again, not sure if that is according to plan, or due to a lack of work. Henry came in with good size already, but is now up to 251.

Irwin-Hill lost a fair bit of weight. He played aussie rules, not rugby right? Maybe he is losing some of his excess muscle remnant from having to tackle a lot more in an effort to become faster and quicker?

Kirkland is massive. I have difficulty imagining all of that weight is good weight, but regardless, he was talented enough to start as a true freshman, so I defer to the coaches with that. Maybe he is just that ridiculously strong.

Most guys put on a few nice pounds.

Ollison up to 309 now is very nice. Philon dropping weight is a surprise, however. Wise also lost a few pounds.

Jonathan Williams offseason transformation has netted him 1 more pound. Not sure where they 10 pounds gained is coming from. Last year everyone was praising him for gaining the weight to be where he is at. Was it a lie that he was in the 220's last year, or did he lose the weight as the season progressed and has put it back on?

Btw, would it be possible to add changes in height?  Seems like that could make a big difference, too.

Possible, yeah, but a quick skim through didn't really show any changes. When newcomers are added I may compare their listed height and weight to what was said coming out of HS, but about the only time you get height corrections is either the combine or jail.

Many thanks Benny. Now if we could get Herbs to give us b4 and after pics that would be pretty cool.

Is this cool..?

It's all I can think about when I hear of b4 and after pics.... LOL..!

So, I remember the media guide usually coming out closer to fall camp, and not in July. That said, I feel like those weights were usually measured in July. So, my question is, are these the weights that we will be given for the rest of the season, or will we get another updated roster come fall time?

I know the inclusion of walk-ons kind of clouds up the results, but especially with the newcomers, many freshman walk-ons never become sophomore walk-ons, so I thought it would be nice for their names to be read as hogs as well.

QB's: Not much to talk about here. AA put on some weight his first year here, and other than that, just some fluctuations. Peavey dropped weight from his reported HS (bad weight?) to his current. He needs to put on at least 10 more.

RB: Arinze looks like (from the numbers) he dropped a good bit of bad weight and has since replaced it with muscle. Collins put on some good weight over winter, but hasn't added any since, similarly for Evans. Marshall continues to add a bit of weight, being up 9 pounds from his listed weight last fall. Williams is pretty much the same weight he has been at since spring 13. Walker's numbers have fluctuated a bit, but always in the 240's.

WR: Antwine who some may have noticed in the spring game, has continued to put on weight, up to 6'4 220. Cornelius has really put on weight from his HS listed, jumping nearly 30 pounds. Edwards is the same as his HS numbers. Hatcher, Hawkins, and Hollister are pretty much the same as well. Duwop has put on a good bit of weight this summer, up to 212. Morgan put on some weight during his first winter session, but is about the same this summer. Wilson has put on some weight.

TE: Derby has added some good mass after transitioning to TE. Henry and Sprinkle continue to add a few pounds each iteration. Loewan has really exploded in weight. Voelzke continues to grow as well. EDIT: Loewan is now listed on the DL? I missed that one.

OL: Beck put on some more weight, Charp dropped about 10 pounds, Cook dropped 6, Kirkland 18, Koehler 9, and Smothers added 7. A lot of weight dropping on the OL, not sure if by design or not.

DE: Beanum has dropped a couple from Spring, Brown is a lot smaller than his HS weight, though he could have simply lost bad weight, though Hall has added about 15. Lewis is about the same after his initial bump. Winston has dropped nearly 10 pounds while Wise Jr is up over 270.

DT/DL: Boyd has dropped some weight after switching sides of the ball. Johnson is down 8 pounds after switching from end to tackle? Philon has put on a bit more weight, but his seems to fluctuate. Roesler continues to grow.

LB: Coleman has put on a bit of weight as he is now listed at LB, though he is still more of that Nelson/Rasner hybrid player. Ellis has put on 20 pounds since last fall, Eugene is up 14 from his HS weight, Hackett up 26, Ramsey 12, and Williams 15. Braylon continues to add weight, Peters continues to hover around 230.

CB: Brignoni was talked about switching to LB, but is still listed at DB, and still listed at 206. Collins has put on some good weight, and Dean is up from last year, but not much since last spring. Ramirez has lost 8 pounds from his HS weight, though Toliver is up 27 from his HS weight.

S: Coley has put on massive weight in each iteration, up over 200 now. Gaines has put on 14 pounds over the summer, Liddell is up 12 from his HS weight. Sleepy continues to add weight.

I think Daunte Carr has tried so hard to gain weight and carry it properly, and it's just been a struggle for him

for this senior year, I hope he can just not worry about weight gain and be the best WLB he can be

he will be a 4 year letterman and has no reason to not be proud of his effort

Hope all our "journeymen" (been here all of the last five years) have good years:
52 LB Daunte Carr
75 OL Luke Charpentier
34 LB Braylon Mitchell
27 S Alan Turner

Daunte will get on the field for special teams and should be a good backup at WLB.

Luke could possibly win a position battle but if not, should provide solid depth at interior OL.

Braylon is projected to be our starter at SLB.  More than likely will be a two year starter.

I think Alan will have a terrific year and will be a team captain.  Possible NFL Draft pick.

Do you happen to have any rapping skills? I think we could set you up with DJ Khaled and you could make a song entitled, "All I Do Is Bitch"

He isn't coming back. And These weights are usually from the spring.

He isn't in the new media guide. These weights are likely not from spring. That's kind of the purpose of this thread is to compare fall and spring weights to track progress for the fans. Spring weights are usually measured in January and Fall weights are usually done in July. The roster on the website hasn't been updated yet. The most up to date roster is only on the media guide which can be found online.

I'd heard Arkadie was off the team. He's back?
Do you wanna get Rocked?

Jek Tono Porkins

Not too long ago Coach B said Hodge needed to lose some weight, looks like he dropped 13 pounds from spring to summer.
I have known the troubles I was born to know
I have wanted things a poor man's born to want
And in all my dreams and memories I go running
Through the fields of Arkansas from which I sprung

Not that I'm aware of. Pretty sure he's off the team. Hence the n/a.

Yeah, I noticed that and was pretty glad of it, tbh. There's a time and a place for 340+ pounds, but not in a 4-3 when a good few of those pounds aren't muscle. While Jackson is pretty muscular, I bet his spring weight dips a bit before replacing it with more muscle next year.

Those weights are at least a couple months old. Rohan Gaines posted a photo today of a scale that was at 201 pounds. And like I said Flowers isn't 268. He is every bit of 280 and probably closer to 285.
