For fans wondering if attending Saturday's Blue-White Game is important, Kentucky recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow has a simple message.

"Most definitely attendance at the spring game impacts recruiting," said Marrow. "I think what did it last year was a lot of those guys (recruits) and their parents saw a team come off a 2-10 record and people thinking football is not important ... parents saw 50,000 people there and that made my job a lot easier in recruiting.

"I already felt good about recruiting and all those kids whether they were from Ohio or Florida were blown away by attendance (at the spring game). So it is important."

Because of construction at Commonwealth Stadium, Kentucky can't match last year's attendance figure. Marrow has prepared recruits and their families for that, but he also knows enthusiastic fans — and a lot of them — can impact decisions players might make about UK while they are on unofficial visits to UK this weekend.

"We have told them numbers will be down and the thing is the stadium is being renovated and we can only have 40,000 in there," Marrow said. "I have told recruits that you may have anywhere from 30,000 to 40,000 people here. I think as long as they see the crowds, the enthusiasm ... and fans are more important. They did a big job last year selling that whole deal for us to recruits and families."

You don't "get" into the alumni tent.  You "pay" to get in there.  In other words it's just a group anyone can join.  Not really seeing that argument there.

On Thursday night, Mark Stoops got a long-awaited commitment. Three-star center Luke Hiers committed to the Cats, becoming the sixth pledge in the 2015 class. Hiers is ranked as high as the 2nd center in the 2015 class (Rivals), and had offers from all the big guys, including Ohio State, Louisville, Nebraska, and Miami.

So far in 2015, the Cats have commitments from four offensive linemen:

Luke Hiers: Center (6'2″ 295 lbs.)
Logan Stengerg: Offensive tackle (6'6″ 327 lbs.)
Larry Wells: Offensive tackle (6'8″ 298 lbs.)
Mason Wolfe: Offensive guard (6'7″, 280 lbs.)

The bulk of the remaining 19 signees in Auburn's 2014 recruiting class will arrive on campus and enroll in May...

The school calendar has two summer mini-semesters; one starting on May 16, the other on June 23.

Due to the timing of spring sports and some school calendars that stretch beyond the start of the first summer mini-semester, there will be some who enroll in June.

Five of Auburn's 24 signees -- D'haquille Williams, Stanton Truitt, Derrick Moncrief, Xavier Dampeer and Chris Laye -- enrolled early and went through spring practice.

Malzahn also said that most of the Tigers' signing class has already qualified, although there are still a few uncertainties, although Malzahn did not mention names.

Malzahn: "There's a couple that we're still waiting, but we're hoping that we have all of them."

Auburn adds 4-star Hoover, AL linebacker Darrell Williams to 2015 commit list

Hoover linebacker Darrell Williams verbally committed to Auburn Wednesday morning.

Williams, a 6-foot-3, 223-pound four-star prospect, announced his commitment on Twitter.

Williams chose the Tigers over scholarship offers from Alabama and Oklahoma. Williams told AL.com earlier this week that Auburn and Oklahoma had moved ahead of Alabama in his mind.

Auburn now has 13 commits thus far for 2015 and is ranked 3rd in recruiting on Rivals, Scout and 24/7 Sports behind Alabama and Penn State.

Nation's top junior college prospect Jovon Robinson commits to Auburn http://ow.ly/wSy0G

Robinson signed with Auburn out of Wooddale High School in Memphis, Tenn., in the 2015 class. But he was ruled academically ineligible after a counselor at Wooddale admitted to altering Robinson's grades in order for him to qualify at Auburn.

Robinson took the 2012 season off before he enrolled at Georgia Military College. He committed to Auburn's 2015 class again on Thursday.

"I have taken visits and evaluated every school that offered me the opportunity to be a part of their program, and after careful thought and consideration, I have chosen to verbally commit to Auburn University," Robinson said in a release. "I have a long relationship with coach Gus Malzahn and have developed a strong bond with assistant coaches Rhett Lashlee and Tim Horton, who did an outstanding job recruiting me."

A UK quarterback target has committed to Ohio State. Joe Burrow, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound quarterback out of Athens, Ohio, went ahead and committed to the home-state Buckeyes. Rivals has Burrow as the 24th-best quarterback in the Class of 2015.

3-star linebacker and safety prospect Montavious Atkinson received a Georgia offer Thursday during a 7-on-7 camp in Athens, Ga.

"It was surprising," said Atkinson, who reportedly received the offer from defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. "I didn't know I'd get offered, even though I was balling out the whole day.

"I'm still solid to Auburn, but Georgia opened my eyes a little. That's a team I've been watching."

Atkinson committed to Auburn March 16. Rivals reports the Fairburn, Ga., native grew up a Bulldogs fan.

Dawson Chambers underwent open heart surgery on Thursday and he had two special visitors stop by over the weekend to check in on his recovery. Randall Cobb and Damien Harris were able to sneak in after visiting hours to visit with Dawson and boost his spirits.



Harris is 5-star RB who plays high school ball 20 miles south of Lexington. Cobb is arguably the highest profile UK alum in the NFL.

4-star OT George Asafo-Adjei has committed to Kentucky. According to 247 Sports, the 6'4″ 295 lbs. Asafo-Adjei is the 38th best OT in the country, and the 16th best player in the state of Ohio. He had offers from Louisville, Florida, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Minnesota, Syracuse, and others. Asafo-Adjei hails from West Chester, Ohio, and Vince Marrow was his primary recruiter

Auburn pledge Marquel Harrell says he's thought about de-committing

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound offensive lineman from Fairburn, Ga., committed to Auburn in April, but told 247Sports Monday Tennessee is his leader. He then solidified his commitment to the Tigers, but said Tennessee is "right behind."

If Harrell does flip to the Volunteers, it will be the third SEC school he has committed to. His February pledge to Ole Miss lasted just 20 days.

"I'm firm ... but anything can happen," he said. "I've thought about [de-committing], but I don't know. I'm not sure yet. I don't want to keep de-committing because I don't want to seem indecisive."

Of Kentucky's 10 football commitments for 2015, five of them are ranked 4 stars by at least one major recruiting service.
