He may very well be the best back in the country.

I know that's a highlight reel, but good god that kid is good!  If he's not the best back, I would like to see one better.  Wow

IrishShenanigans69

Pretty awesome!  Not gonna get my hopes up on him committing/signing with us, but hey, there was 0 chance of that happening before he even thought about an official.

Arkiebarkie

So.....You say there's a chance!

Is this the same high school Tyler Cogswell attends?  I know there was some concern that pulling his offer could damage relationships at Tyler's school.  I'm not at all sure this is the same high school, but it certainly doesn't sound like there's any hard feelings between Collins' coach and CBB.

Fatmanhog

Good grief that boy doesn't go down easy! The way he switches direction at full speed was amazing.
to nutt or not to nutt, thats not even a question any more.

No.  Tyler attends American Heritage High School (a private school).  Collins goes to South Plantation.

Good deal. He's from Patridge's hometown too.

Hogsmo Kramer

Yes I'll definitely take one of those! Kid is a beast!

I like the fact that he already had an official to Wisconsin and that Partridge was his recruiter and now he and BB are now our coaches. Also the fact we now have the WR's coach from Miami coming in could help as well possibly.

Holy crap this kid is good... runs just like Trent Richardson and Marshawn Lynch.

SemperFi

He reminds me of Bo Lacy. Runs with power, but is shifty and has the speed to break the long runs. This is the kind of kid that you can build a championship team with. Would definitely make me forget all about Altee Tenpenny.

The other day when checking out this list we weren't in the top few choices but are now "warm". Hope we get him.

Adding Partridge to our staff helped since he is well known in that area.  It looks like we may get Hammock as well and they already have a relationship together.  We may not land him but I think the odds of him coming for a visit are pretty high.

Has there been some new development with Hammock?

I think he always was Coach Bs top target for RB coach.  Now that they have their coach I expect he will join our staff soon.  I also think with him being the RC he wanted to wait and finish things out recruiting until the dead period hit.

Solid video:

1) Keeps his eyes up field;
2) Keeps feet moving after contact;
3) Isn't afraid of contact;
4) Excellent speed;
5) Very agile.

Why either/or?  Why not both/and?

I think it is both/and AND and. Given how incredibly thin we are at running back, we need three running backs. I think it was 2006 that we had commitments from Darren McFadden and Michael Smith, both of whom worked out extremely well for the Razorbacks. But we still signed a third running back. Imagine the Hogs without Felix Jones.

When you are as thin as we are right now, with an offense for which running backs are crucial, you can't gamble signing two and hoping those two do just fine. Just as our #3 RB signee turned out to be valuable to the team, so also a third RB might turn out to be absolutely crucial to the team next year. You can never predict who is going to be the best back. I mean, while Michael went on to be a thousand yard rusher after Darren and Felix left, if we hadn't signed a third it would have been Darren and Michael rather than Darren and Felix.

You don't often need three running backs. But when you are down to almost no running backs on campus and you are installing a new offense, you need someone besides Jonathan Williams to carry the football. Montee Ball's freshman year he had, I think, 997 yards rushing, and was the third leading rusher on Wisconsin's team. CBB obviously likes a rotation to keep backs fresh. But at the moment, especially if rumors about Donovan Roberts prove true, there really isn't anyone who can rest Jonathan. Kody Walker is a short yardage specialist and Nate Holmes is strictly a chnage of pace/3rd down kind of back, if he remains at running back at all.

We need a three tailback rotation and you can't gamble that you sign two and they both immediately fit in perfectly in the rotation. What if one gets hurt? So I really will be shocked if we don't sign three backs this year. Though soft playing Kaleb Blanchard could end up biting us in the butt. I wish we'd done more to make him feel valued, even while trying to sign two more backs.

Break & Run

Um....looks like Coach Hammock will be staying at Wisconsin.

"I can't be cliché and say 'Call the Hogs,' but I think I have to.  That's just something that sets our university apart.  When you're out on the field and everyone in the stadium stands up, it's amazing.  Even when we're at a football or basketball game, just to see that many people around you doing the same thing for you when you're on the field or for the other guys who are playing, it's pretty awesome."

Well cathair, imagine what a legit, balanced coach could do with a Mccluster, not to mention a larger Mccluster. That would be crazy to have someone like that in a creative offense.

Getting him and AT would be amazing and I am thinking it would be a similar situation to when Bama had Ingram and Richardson.

I don't always agree with with Kid but he's spot on here.  If we can get 3 big time RBs, we need to take em.

MissippHog

Out of all the RB's on our radar, Collins is the one I want.  Newby is a close second.  Collins looks like a beast out there and I love his physicality.

He is rather large to be so fast and athletic. He would probably be a LB or DE prospect if he wasn't so darn good at RB...!

I should have added, except for the size. The way this kid plants his foot and darts at an angle away from would be tacklers is an outstanding trait. Mccluster had it also.
