Yeah, I hear you McK, the s#!t talking with this loser Spurs fan was over the WCF, I'm disappointed that OKC didn't win the NBA Championship but the thing about OKC fans is we love our team and no matter what, some [CENSORED] that has no idea what he is talking about isn't going to bother me. I'm through feeding the troll...

Bring on football season, dammit Bobby

Don't forget the diamond hogs.

OKC is a few pieces away.

Miami was built to play like that. Problem was Miller and Battier only started doing their jobs in the final.

OKC really could use 1-2 three point shooters than can play D. Battier and Miller are pretty nasty role players when they do their jobs.

MM-gohogs

So much for the Diamond Hogs, I watched some of the first two games of the CWS. I didn't see any of the back to back loses to SC... Disappointing though. PS I hate baseball!

OKC is zero pieces away. There will be no major changes to our roster for next season and maybe not season after that. Battier and Miller, both lottery picks, played well as role players, though Miller didn't show up until Game 5. Battier played out of his gourd the entire series shooting 61% from the field and 58% from 3PT. The Thunder were close to signing Battier but only offered him a two year deal and he wanted three years, that was a mistake. We could've added another lottery pick.

As far as needing players to hit a three, there is KD, Harden, Daequan Cook off the bench, Fisher (don't know if he will be back), Eric Maynor (injured backup PG that tore ACL, reason Fish was brought in) Sefolosha and Westbrook... But hopefully you weren't implying the Thunder should've put in a bunch 3PT shooters when they were down 10-18 points throughout nearly every game of the Finals. Sefolosha went cold in the Finals, Harden was busy cleaning S#!T out of his shorts/no show, and Cook didn't play much because of the short Finals rotation.

OKC lost because LBJ dominated pretty much every facete of every game, he lived in the lane and kicked the ball out to every. The better team won the series, in fact, in every series of the 2012 NBA Playoffs the better team won every series with the exception of the 1 vs 8 series in the East, Bulls-Sixers. Once DRose tore his knee, the Bulls didn't have the wherewithal to beat Philly.

Also just wanted to say, huge turnout in OKC yesterday for the teams return from Miami, it is estimated that 4,000 fans showed up.

Great draft pick for OKC, Perry Jones III or PJ3 from Baylor, an athletic big man that can play the 3 or 4 at 6'11", 235 lbs and a 7'2" wing span. His build is similar to that of KD without that much upside and will probably end up being more of a post player for the team that will be more of a scorer than Ibaka and is a good passer. PJ3 was projected as a top 10 pick in the last draft but fell of in this draft because of an alleged long term knee issue and will probably be riding the bench for the next season or two as his game is developed to fit the NBA. He will look a lot like a former Thunder player, Jeff Green.

More good news late tonight is the team and Coach Scott Brooks are close to terms on a contract extension where he was making $2.1M last season and was reportedly offered a 3 year, $11M deal that was declined because he wanted another year. When they come to terms I think his deal will be 4 years, around $17M.

Oklahoma City is reported to be in talks with former Bishop McGuinness C Daniel Orton.

It looks like back up C Nazr Mohammed who is now a free agent won't be resigned after he made $3.75M in 2011-12 and bench prospect and LOTTERY PICK Cole Aldrich will be moved up to the back up big man and a new bench prospect big will be brought in. I was seeing free agent Hasheem Thabeet thrown around as the Thunder tried to bring him a few years back. Regardless who it is, they will be brought in for around the league minimum to free up room for Harden/Ibaka.

Hasheem Thabeet it is, signed for 2 years at the league minimum of $880K per, sucks that Nazr won't be back... Hey we got another lottery pick, 2013 NBA Finals here we come!

You called that play, brotha... He was just signed to the non-guaranteed training camp roster as the teams offseason acquisitions of Thabeet, first round pick Perry Jones III and undrafted free agent Hollis Thompson filled the roster to the league maximum of 15. If Orton doesn't make the opening night roster it is likely he will be assigned to the Thunder's NBA D-League affiliate Tulsa 66ers.

Damn, Harden was traded to Houston... Offered 4 years for $55.5M and it was rejected. He struggled in the starting lineup early last season... We'll see how we'll he does as the main guy.

Edit: I was completely and utterly wrong about getting a deal done to keep Harden, but he turned it all down over $4.5M from the max contract he will get from Houston. So much for "sacrificing" to keep the team together Jim

What do you think about the pieces you got for him?

I really like Lamb-- not sure if he's what you guys were looking for, but I think he's a high talent guy.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

It's really too early to tell... We sent 4 players away and only got two back... We have two spots that will probably be filled with minimum contract players.

I don't know if Martin assumes Harden's role. I don't think Perry Jones would play that key of a role for us but with all of this... I don't know?

Will okc miss harden?  Okc scored 84 last night in the opener while harden exploded for 37 his first game.

No, Martin is a better pure scorer. There will be no more monster dunks or running back with his hands low with three fingers after draining a three. He had 15 points on 5 shots and was only 1-1 from 3PT. It looks like a little different product but it isn't going to be what happened to the 2012 Razorback Football team with the loss of CBP

How do you score 15 points on 5 shots if only one of the is a three-pointer?

at CHI he was 3-5 FG, 1-1 3PT and 8-9 from FT with 6 rebs
vs TOR he was 4-9 FG, 1-4 3PT and 6-7 from FT

He's a 90% career free throw shooter. And as far as his defense goes, he is better than serviceable and it is something as the third or even fourth option with Ibaka emerging as the third member of OKC's new big three.

With KMart on the floor with the second team he will have Collison on the floor with him who is a great help defender as well as the height of Thabeet.

I am interested what Presti will do with Martin. The expiring contract plus a few of those picks could come as a trade deadline deal or will we try to bring KMart back for around Harden money or a little less? I would almost be in favor of bringing him back if the money will be right...

I didnt know much about KMart either, but more than Harden, I was worried about the loss of Aldrich as the back up center but Thabeet has been solid as a back up through 6 games.

Through 19 games the Thunder have a commanding lead in the Northwest Division and took care of business in Brooklyn last night.

Westbrook has been playing much more under control and is, of all things, 5th in the Association in assists at 8.7 a game and the Thunder have had multiple 30 assist games and are 8th overall thus far, a huge improvement from years past.
