Looks to be some big moves before the deadline so I think it would be good to put them all in one thread.

Big trade tonight as the Pirates make a move for Wandy by sending the Astros 3 quality prospects.  All 3 are top 20 in the Pirates system according to mlb.com.  Robbie Grossman is the #7 prospect.  Rudy Owens is the #12 prospect.  Colton Cain is the #16 prospect.  Looks to be a good trade for both parties.  The Astros also send cash to the Pirates as Wandy makes 8 figures.

With less than 7 hours until the deadline, I figure it would be useful to update this thread to show all the trades that could have an impact outside of the big ones.

We will get started with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays.  Pittsburgh receives 24 year old OF Travis Snider who was having a good year in AAA and the Jays receive Brad Lincoln who is having a very solid year on the Senior Circuit.

As reported in the Braves thread, the Braves acquired LHP Paul Maholm and OF Reed Johnson for RHP prospects in Arodys Vizcaino and Jaye Chapman.

Zack Cox was traded to the Marlins from the Cards for Edward Mujica.  Seems like a knee jerk move by the cards.

Pirates got Gaby from the Marlins.  Before this year he was considered a very valuable piece.  We'll see if he's more comfortable in Pittsburgh.

BS, as I posted in the EI thread, the Cards soured quickly on Cox. They see their future infield as:
3B - Freese
SS - Furcal
2B - Wong/Craig
1B - Berkman/Adams/Carpenter

Cox was behind all of those (although he was never considered for SS, I'm just filling in the blanks). Thus, getting rid of a piece that is at best 2nd in line (behind an all-star) for significant help this year was worth it.
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. Its good to see the Pirates making moves. While I'm first and foremost a Cardinals fan its hard not to root for the Pirates. And Nationals.

I don't think Cox was behind Wong at all.  Definitely not in MLB preparedness.

The only reason for this move is the Cardinals think Mujica will be the difference in making the playoffs and not.  We'll see.

Dempster went to the Rangers.  Good get unless they had to give up Olt, we'll see.

Broxton got moved to the reds.  Probably crazy but I hope it's Billy.  :D

Do you happen to have any rapping skills? I think we could set you up with DJ Khaled and you could make a song entitled, "All I Do Is Bitch"

Hans Gruber

The Rangers now just need to re-sign Kenny Rogers and pick up Jamie Moyer.
