UAB just a player come in named Mukubu and the announcers said he was a transfer from Arkansas.  I don't remember him.  When did he leave?

hogfankb

He left when nolan left. You don't remember him because he did NOTHING when he was here.

i thought he was gonna try and play defensive end for the football at UA?  wasn't he recruited in football as a DE too?

Mukubu didn't leave when Nolan left, He played his freshman and sophmore seasons under Stan as did Kendrick Davis.  Then Stan ran them both off to free up schollies.  Both sat out a year, and are now playing again.  Wen is averaging about 10 points a game for UAB, and Kendrick Davis is averaging about 17 for North Texas.
A hero kills people, people that wish him harm. A hero is part human and part supernatural. A hero is born out of a childhood trauma, or out of a disaster, and must be avenged.

One plays in Conference USA. Big Deal. The other plays in the Sun Belt with the powerhouse known as UALR. I'm sure they're having success but neither did anything for us and wouldn't do much in the SEC. Davis 3 point shooting percentage is still pitiful. It's easy to average a lot of points when you jack the ball up all game which he did when he was here.

You guys act as if Stan has never got a technical foul.

Mukubu scored 16 points and had 4 steals against Houston, who won at LSU.  He also scored 16 against Oklahoma St.  Check out Mukubu's stats from his past two seasons: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=11290.  It's ridiculous that he couldn't get on the court here.  Do you remember how bad those teams were?  I guess it's easier to make FTs in CUSA, too.  His percentage has gone up 30 points.  Who knew he could shoot?  He never got on the floor.  He's been a difference maker on a team that will be playing in the postseason.  A flash athlete that can shoot a little.  Naw, those guys can't make it in the SEC.

They both moved down to a lower level conference where they could compete.

Perhaps Stan will do the same.

I was watching the UAB vs Houston game and Tom Penders got a technical foul.  What happened was the ref called a foul on a Houston player and Tom grabs his head and falls down on the floor.  The ref thought that he was complaining about the call.  The next thing that the tv shows is Tom being carted off on a stretcher.  They said he hyper ventilated and passed out.

Might be coaching with emotion. Doesn't mean it's smart.

Getting a T can fire your team up or get the refs to call a more even game(very risky on that point)

Why need to fire up your team if you're leading by 12 ? That T is most likely to give the other team a chance to catch up. Emotion that might best be controlled. Lebo hurt Auburn's chances bad with his T Saturday.

I've seen Mukubu play on the tube a couple of times this year.  He's still a great athlete; however, he's still got a horrible shot too.

Mukubu is an extraordinary athlete.  He would have fit into Heath's system if Heath hadn't had a grudge against anybody Nolan signed.

You should watch him play having been coached by Mike Anderson.  Mukubu is fun to watch.  He can defend, too, unlike almost everybody Heath has recruited.

Kendrick Davis has scored 20+ on every name opponent North Texas has played.  He actually was a Heath signee, and the only comprehensible reason why Heath got rid of him was that Heath must have thought he'd sign somebody better--even though he never did.  Johnny Jones knows how to coach guards, Heath doesn't have the slightest clue about it.  It's likely Davis never would have amounted to anything playing for Heath, the way his coaching was botched from the beginning.  Good thing he left to play for somebody who wouldn't waste him.

Yeah, and it should be one helluva game. Mike Anderson does what Nolan did many times, take lesser talented teams and shock the hell out of more talented teams. He knows, just like Nolan, how to prepare his guys and have them ready to play.

And in regards to Wenbos Mukubu, he is an unbelievable athlete who just needed a coach to use him properly. He didn't transfer to UAB to step down in talent level. He wanted to have fun, win 20+ games every year and go to the NCAA tournament. He didn't do any of that at Arkansas and he sure as hell wouldn't be doing it this year under Stan Least. When March rolls around, he'll be winging his way to an NCAA First Round location and we'll be saying "When does spring football start?"
