What a wise decision us getting Coach Petrino was!- He isn't an "experiment" he is pure "execution!"

Hmmmm.  This is first time I've seen these stats grouped like this. Those Opponent's Yardage stats are surprisingly better than I would have thought.

Maybe I should be fair and group Nutt's first three seasons at AR (and at Ole Miss) and do the same for Petrino's first three seasons.  If there's enough of a demand, I'll do it.  :)

Why? By using 2007, you are comparing the most talent AR had that perfectly fit with Nutt's system. By using 2009 and 2010 you give Coach Petrino one year to recruit and institute his system. It is a stunning comparison more of the systems than the coach. One at its best and one in its beginning.
Pittman or Bust!

Actually, this is going to also illustrate how each coach has progressed their first three years with their respective organizations (Nutt in 1998 - 2000 @ AR, Nutt in 2008 - 2010 @ OM, Petrino in 2008 - 2001 @ AR).

This is one HELL of a task, but holy... this gives some hard evidence to back up what many of us have said about Nutt and Petrino.

Due to how I have this formatted, I'll be linking this on my blog site (only way I could keep the formatting nice and clean)

Didn't see your post and posted some of the same things.  It is interesting that we are winning the TOP and running more plays than our Opp.  I did not realize until I looked at the stats that we are giving up under 200 yards of passing a game.  That is impressive.

Okay, just wait for my "By the Numbers II - Nutt vs Petrino, the first three years".

Some really interesting things I'm finding out.

I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater.
