Lets make a list of SEC Refs screwups today
« on: October 17, 2009, 09:02:22 pm »

1. Mallet on the QB sneak clearly made a first down by a half a yard, ref gives a poor spot which leads Gary Dainelson to say it's reviewable, we get the first by millimeters. This was one of many spots that were awful today, several by the Gators on the final 2 drives.

2. Lack of penalties( holding) called on the Gators, what did they have 2 or 3 flags all day?

3. Reviewing the Childs TD? Why? I guarentee you if Florida would've fell on the ball they would have called it a fumble.

4. Pass int. or lack therof on Broadway on the final TD Drive,

5. Malcomm Shepard flag, worst call of all

6. Offensive Pass int. that would have been an interception by us, should have moved them back 15 yards.

Feel free to add, I"m sure I missed some

I know I saw a facemask done to DJ that wasn't called.

The BP was apparently saying the play clock had expired when they kicked their first FG.

Anyone have any proof of this?    Shouldn't that also be reviewable since it was a scoring play.     Our scoring play gets reviewed but not theirs??

Penalties (or non-calls) are not reviewable plays.  You can't, by rule, look at a replay to determine if a penalty was missed.

I am pretty sure I saw blatant holding on nearly every FL offensive play.  Sad I can see it from miles away, and those guys whose sole responsibility is to be looking for that sort of thing each play, are up so close, and can't see it.  They must be color blind....can't see blue, but can see red clearly.

The first face mask penalty for 15 was pretty crap as well.

A facemask call in the middle of the game on us that wasn't a facemask, resulting in a 1st down on a florida scoring drive. (it was just a tackle with the arms around the helmet and no grab of the facemask)

The play itself is, yes;  however, the officials cannot look at the play clock.  That's beyond the scope of review.

The play didn't happen if the ball had not been snapped before the play clock expired.

That isn't reviewable, though.  They can't even look at the clock.    It does not exist, for purposes of the review.

True, it was especially disgusting as there was a shove in the back by a fla player right before the non face mask occurence.

What do you think this crew would have done had Arkansas just made that kick and Urban yelled that it was after the play clock had expired?

On critical third down catch on final drive, Cooper pulled Broadway's jersey to get position.

Blocking below the waist when we are THE KICKOFF TEAM!!!!!!

Yes I didn't understand that   CBS showed play from the kicking teams endzone.  I saw  2 flags   one from the sideline during the play and then  the second came in much later  from the center of the field  (maybe from a ref following the kicking team).

Then they switch to the anouncers in the booth and then came back to the field as the ref said  block below the waist on the kicking team.  FLA ended up with the ball on about the 35  but I thought that is where we tackled the kick returner (could be wrong)

I'm not buying that.    They're be at least one ref that would have said he was blowing the whistle when the play clock expired.

Verne was completely out of it on that, since they were visiting in the booth on camera.  We tackled them at the 23, the ball ended up at the 38.  It was obviously called a 15 yarder on us.  And who knows if it wasn't legit.  They never addressed it.

There were a ton of HORRIBLE calls in this game, but we left enough points on the field to lose to a lot of teams, much less Florida. You have to win IN SPITE of the refs. Worse officiated game I've seen in a long time, though. They should all be fired.

I hope that BP asks for an SEC review on these refs. Maybe we can keep them from calling any more of our games. This reminds me of the old SWC days when only Tex refs could ref Ark games -- when all we played were teams from Texass.

Quite obvious that this officiating crew would never have flagged a delay of game on that FG.

You are correct. He did exactly the same thing in the LSU game -- and no call.

We had stopped the runner at the 20. That 15 yard penalty put them up to the 35.

Penalties:
Arkansas - 10-92
Florida - 3-16

Three flags?  You didn't even have to see the game to know that's suspect.

I'm not eagle eye, but I watched that play a couple of times.  I couldn't tell if the snap was after the clock hit 0 or not.  CBS didn't put up the clock until about the exact same time the center snapped the ball.  In other words, when they did put up the clock it was about the same time FL was snapping the ball.  No way I, personally, could tell how long it had been on 0.

You can bet that if a team has been subjected to 6 sacks in a game their offensive line will be doing whatever they need to do to stop it.     Usually see a lot of holding calls when a teams QB is getting that many sacks.     I saw several, but the refs apparently did not.

Yep, as thet announcers proclaimed it was a ticky-tack penalty....and when you look at the replay, Davis gets shoved first, big time, and then he shoves back.  But usually, it is the 2nd person to do something that normally gets flagged.

There was an obvious PI at 5:07 in the 1stQtr.  It was an underneath screen pass at about the Arkansas 25yd line.  Mallett let the rush come and he threw off is back foot to the RB underneath, when well before the ball got there, a LB or DB came up and hit the Arkansas player trying to make the catch.

They showed a replay of a big Florida first down and the Arkansas player had the Florida OL beat and the OL resorted to putting our guy in a headlock.

The last play of the 1st Qtr., B Greene was running from about the 5 or 6 yd line, and when he appeared at the end, he stretched his arm and the ball across the goal line, but when is arm came down, the ball popped out......
Of course with the crap they were calling yesterday, I am surprised they didn't call it a fumble.  Instead they called it down at the one, when clearly his arm and ball were stretched across the goal line before he was down.

Soooooo, that should have been a touchdown right there.

Luckily, we scored on the possesion to start the 2nd qtr, but replay would have/should have given us the TD to end the 1st Qtr.

And when B Greene did score, the FL defender grabbed greene around the throat and proceded to bend Greene backwards, trying to rip his head off while Greene was pinned low.  (not a penalty I guess but a definite DIRTY play.)

7:19 in 2nd Qtr., we hem the play up on their sideline, while one of our defenders gets blocked out of the play by the FL offensive player BLOCKING HIM IN THE BACK.  But who does the flag get thrown on?  Us of course for a facemask.....and we never touched the facemask....just caught him around the back of the helmet which turned his head.
