I will start them very soon.  Will try to add at least one profile/projection per day since it's a long time until football season!

I might as well reserve premium space in what's sure to become a highly-viewed thread too.
so what are you going to do with your premium space?  use it, auction it off, sell advertisements?

I had seen some information on Jay Herndon in here and wanted to clarify what seemed to be some misinformation.  Jay is the receiver from Jax Bolles that signed.  There seemed to be some questioning his academics.  Jay is an excellent student who has a very high SAT.  He will have no academic problems, in fact, I would guess that he probably has higher test scores than most every Arkansas signee.  Jay did have other offers......William and Mary, Liberty, FAU, and Illinois all offered him.  I beleive there are several reasons why he wasn't more highly recruited.....he is a year young....unlike many players these days who are held back a year, Jay is really junior age and will not turn 18 until after he graduates from high school.  In the last year he has grown tremendously and still is maturing physically.....he has also dealt with nagging injuries, especially in his junior year, but also missed a couple of games this year and played most of the year with ankle injuries.  I believe some his injuries came from growing so fast over the past 12 months.  Another thing, he is not gonna blow you away with great combine numbers in the 40.....I believe he runs a 4.6, but this is very deceptive as he changes directions and cuts as fast as any receiver I have seen. There also seemed to some confusion on his stats, and I am not sure, but I think he had 45 or 50 receptions this year on a team that only throws about 13 or 14 times a game.  Bottom line, I think Arkansas got a steal....give him a year of two of growth and I think he will be a very good SEC reciever.  My son was the QB on his Bolles team this year so I have watched him for 4 years and I think there are going to be alot of schools in the SEC that are going to regret not going after him.

Thanks for the info. BTW, a lot of us were on here admiring your son's arm strength in the video's of Jay. Where is he going to school?

I was wondering the same thing.  He looked to be a good QB that put it where Jay needed it to be.

I could really see Petrino leaving him at RB, but think his best shot at early/often playing time would be as an OLB.

On Chris Smith,

Tomhog mentioned that WR may use him as a hybrid DE/OLB who moves from one position to the other to confuse the offense.  Do you think he will be switching from 4-3 to 3-4 or 4-3 to 5-2 or just depends on the situation?

Pork, I believe Willy will try and implement the 4-3 to 3-4 this year if the defense can pick up on all the changes between the two.  Having a player like Chris on defense will certainly help with the shifts.  We will have to wait and see if it can be done this year.

Thanks for all your hard work Tom.

This class is going to suprise a lot of people come fall 2011. They'll be solid. I love Chris Smith, imo he'll be one of those guys we still think about daily 5-10 years after he is gone.
