I hate the Spurs, the Suns could've ended this game multiple times already in overtime.

Oliver

Duncan could take that shot 1000 more times and not hit another one.  Amazing how lucky the Spurs are in the playoffs.

At some point, it's no longer luck.

Still, what a shot.  Duncan's post-season legend continues to grow.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

If the Suns don't hit this shot, they've lost this game.  No way they win in 2nd OT without Amare.

If this goes to double OT, what do you bet Shaq picks up his 6th foul within 24 seconds.

Oh the Spurs are good...very good.  But that was the equivalent of Shaq hitting 3 free throws at the end of a game to win it.

Suns really let this one get away.

Do you think they have the mental toughness at the back end of their rotation to handle a loss today, when they could have wrested home-court advantage from the Spurs?

If Amare would've just lobbed it to Shaq for the slam.......

Amare's on the bench.

How many fouls does Duncan have?

Hard to make a pass with 6 fouls.

Haha.  A legal pass at least.

That's what I've been thinking during the 2nd half.  I hope that they can pull this out, because I would hate to see the Suns lose in the 1st round and absolutely love it to see the Spurs get eliminated in the 1st round.

First three second call of game, watch how long Duncan backs down Shaq next time he gets it in the post.

Oliver

Ginobili took about 5 steps there.

None... in Duncan's mind, but he really picked up all three in the first half.

So no fouls in the 2nd half for Duncan?  Oh yeah, I forgot to look at my script.

Oliver

Kurt Thomas is a wife beater.

AnthroHog

Well, now that Parker has fouled out, time for the refs to get rid of Shaq.

I can't stand Bowen.

Oliver

Well Duncan hit a 3, why shouldn't Nash miss a FT?

You're thinking of Jason Kidd.

No.  Although Jason Kidd is in that club as well.

The counterpoint is that today,  Duncan has slapped some b*tches around.

Well with Kurt Thomas on your team, you can learn how to do that pretty quickly.

Oliver

AnthroHog

That sums up the game.  Two shots going down and come back up for the Suns.

And Tim Duncan hits a 3 pointer.

Oliver

AnthroHog

Hopefully Barry will be cold since he's sat most of the game and is hurt.

AnthroHog

Time for Shaq to hit a 3 pointer, get fouled and complete a four point play.  I can hope.

Oliver

Nash or Diaw better take a 3 here.

Oliver

Oliver

Somebody punch Ginobili in the nose.

AnthroHog

Well, this was a bunch of BS.  The Suns should've put them away countless times.  I really hate the Spurs but at least there are 7 games.

This series is over.  The Spurs will continue to poison the well of exciting basketball this playoff season.

I just hope it isn't Lakers vs. Spurs and Pistons vs. Cavs.  The reason is, if the Cavs get past the Pistons then they'll just get hammered in the Finals.

BigSexyHog

This series is over after game 1... Damm I thought the suns had it.

Go Spurs!  Now, how will Pargo do?  I really think the Mavs are going to win this series.

Certainly looks like Mavs are going to win Game 1.  Anyone watching Hornets and Mavs?

BigSexyHog

Yes, I am watching it... Come on NO...  I hate the Mavs and Cuban

AnthroHog

Did you see Nowitzki act like he got shoved by Shaq when Chandler barely touched him?  I wish that they would "T" up players that did that.

Go Hornets!

ErieHog

I'll be surprised if the Hornets don't sweep the Mavs.  Paul is by far the best PG in basketball, and will make Jason Kidd look like he's 90.

Only other Hornet's game I caught was their end of regular season against Dallas.  He is extremely quick.  I think that lack of experience was the reason a lot of "experts" have been calling for the Mavs to win, but Paul is extremely good and their coach has been to the Finals a lot.  It would be a good story for the Jazz and Hornets to make it for the Paul and Deron debate.

I watch a ton of NBA games; the Hornets are the best team in the West, in terms of having big time players at key positions, and really, they're easily the most cohesive unit in the West.     David West and Tyson Chandler have had two fantastic seasons in support of Paul, who is doing things never done in the NBA before at the PG position.  Paul should be the NBA MVP, on the basis of merit alone.

I hope the Mavs get destroyed for the two simple facts that 1) Nowitzki stole the MVP last season and 2) Chris Paul is going to get robbed of the MPV this season.

Do you get NBA TV or Satellite?

Chris Paul is really good, imagine if the Hawks had listened to him begging to get drafted by them instead of getting Mavin Williams.  MVP in the NBA is so much about stuff that doesn't matter.  The "experts" have said that Kobe is going to get it because he hasn't had it yet and Paul has plenty of time to get it.

I get a mish-mash of sports packages, as I live in Ireland;  I get the ESPN NBA broadcasts, some of the ABC games, and about a third of NBA-TV stuff  on my mix-and-match sports networks.  I generally watch 1 NBA game a night during the week, and one on the weekends.   The quality of play all around the league is up a lot over even just last year.
