Even the critics can't denigrate his coaching ability. As for being a model of leadership, the dissenters need to realize that our previous coach was far from a good role model. We have stepped up with Coach Petrino in that regard as well.

I tried to post a comment in the blog.  I was very critical of the media blasting Petrino.  I asked why there were no uproar about RR to Mich.  It did not make the list.  Typical of the media.

Please keep reminding everyone else in the world why he shouldn't be hired.  The man has proven his coaching abilities and in the 6 weeks he has been here, he's starting to prove he can recruit, and it might be scary the talent he gets in having a year or two to improve and having the entire year to recruit.  Most all fans love the staff he has put together.  Please ESPN, please Sporting News, please SI, please keep reminding everyone else why he is such a bad hire.

and to think that fox news republican bias is based on anything other than wanting to grab those ratings is pretty laughable too.  FOX's regular network is liberal as can be, offering morally questionable programming and slumming the bottom for tricks to bring in viewers.  Thats what the News Network has done too.  Where others try (and sometimes fail for sure)to be non-biased in their news coverage, Fox News is trying to reach a target market and is unapologetically biased in trying to please that target market.   

That's for a different forum though. 

At least a couple of these guys don't trash us... and I'm of the camp that they've trashed him so much he can't jump ship anytime too soon...  At least this article is balanced, they praise him and the y trash him, but they also praise and trash Rich Rod too.  Much better than ESPiN's coverage for sure.

I thought that was a pretty interesting read. And not only Petrino, I like how Rodriguez shows up on both the "good" and "questionable" lists.

When people want to come down on Petrino, they just can't come up with anything new. It's always about how he'll be gone after 2 years. And maybe I am naive (and as they say "irresponsible") for thinking this...but after we win 7 or 8 games next year, 10 the following year...then for Petrino's third year we'll have a bunch of skill-position players (all those WRs) recruited by BP hitting their stride, hopefully the same for the defensive side, and Mallet will be starting his junior year...I don't think that situation would be easy for a coach to leave.

If Petrino makes Arkansas a consistent contender with LSU, Georgia and Florida...then how much better would THOSE jobs be if they came open?

Good point. +1  I kind of found it ironic that many of the coaching hires that were "slam dunk" by some were "questionable" by others.

Im not interested in what the morons at Msn.Fox think of the Questionables. Petrino said he would fulfill his contract at Arkansas during the press conference and i believe he will. Petrino has the perfect setup here at arkansas, (SEC Conference) which he was dying to get into, wide area of recruiting states including the big 12 and sec, players and staff that respect him and even recruits, and fans that love petrino and his family.

Petrino has got the whole package here at arkansas. :razorback:
