There's a new star in Pine Bluff – albeit he is a young one.

Zebras sophomore quarterback Claude Johnson (6-0, 195) put on quite the display of both shiftiness and leg and arm strength Friday night in a 28-28 tie at Fayetteville.

"Oh, man he is going to be a player to watch," noted Fayetteville offensive lineman Colby Berna, one of the state's top juniors that Arkansas is recruiting. "He is unbelievable. I have never seen a sophomore like that. He is quick, can throw the ball, run – he's got the whole package."

It's funny, I know him personally and remember watching him lead his team to the Baseball Cal Ripken League World Series and in pee wee football.

He was always bigger than the guys his age and peformed at a higher level, but I had no idea he'd be competing at a level like this and drawing so much attention as a sophomore.

He's making his grandparents extremely proud.
