I know it is early, ...

I know you can't judge a class until 4 years AFTER they signed, ...

but I was comparing our early commitments on www.Rivals.com with the rest of the SEC.  I found about what I expected.  We are doing good so far, better than Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Vandy, KY, Miss. State...  Alabama has a nice class started, and then I hit on Georgia.  OMG, do we ever have to play them again?

So far they have 14 commitments:

5 Stars – 2

4 Stars -  7

3 Stars -  4

2 Stars – 1 (a kicker)

7 defense, 6 offense, 1 Athlete and 1 Special Teams.

Looks like they are doing a really good job at re-loading.

Be Good
The first thing I heard today was that he grew up on a pig farm. That's quite a start in my book. And my last memory was watching him hang 70 on Nebraska. Just those two facts are enough (for me to like him). Then, I hear that he's out of the Hayden Fry-Bill Snyder-Barry Alvarez coaching tree. Oh, that's enough for me to like a lot. Then, I hear he's got a 27-year-old wife. Okay, we can stop. I like him.

Saban already has 10 commits, but what is really interesting is that he has 9 in-state commits (5-4*s, 3-3*s & 1-2*) and only 1 out-of-state commit (2* K from WV) while TT at Auburn has 5 commits all of them out-of-state.  Not a single in-state kid has chosen Auburn & TT yet.

Looks like Orgerons luster is wearing off too.  8 of their 11 commits are 2 stars or not rated (3 are juco).

COCHISE

Have ya'll looked at Texas by any chance, no surprise really.

From what I'm hearing from several sources in Alabama the biggest long term loser, at least as far as recruiting is concerned, is TT. For the past several years Tuberville has been the "big dog" in 'Bama. No more once Saban hit the state line.

Eventually, Zook's recruiting will land more than 2 or 3 wins.
Not a fan of Juice Williams' abilities, at least not thus far.

Are you serious.  Juice Williams was pretty good last year as a Freshman.  He was one of the best freshmen quaterbacks in the country and the team did improve.  Juice will play on Sundays.

Not sure how they improved.  They will improve based on 17 starters back on a team that only beat one D1 team last year.  I can think of about a half of a dozen frosh QBs last year that were better.

Juice rushed for 500 yards, but didn't complete 40% of his passes.  It was the lowest percentage of any starter in Division 1.  He had a 9/9 ratio on TD/INT.  The receivers didn't help and they add in super prep star Arrelious Benn.  He won on the road at Michigan State.  If he improves much, Illinois will make a bowl.  Minnesota is on the decline, especially with a new coach.  Indiana might be thinking of their coach at times.  They'll fight Michigan State and Northwestern for one of the final conference bowl spots.

Unfortunately, TT recruits Ark after striking out on his Alabama prospects.
The key to Alabama is Mobile.
You have Ark, LSU, Bama, and Aubbie all fighting for those prospects.

hogwild84

I remember last yr when we were recruiting Arrelious Benn and offered him. Odus said that we could go after him but that he was a longshot bc he would prob end up at a powerhouse program. Im glad the grand football powerhouse of Illinois ended up snagging him  :puke:
