Houston Nutt and David Lee along with Josh Heupel from Oklahoma and Jeff Tedford head coach at Cal, along with an assistant coach from LSU were in Greenwood this afternoon to see Tyler Wilson on the first day of Greenwood's spring practices. More coaches are expected on Thursday.

1. I don't know what he had to say about the facilities. I'll see if I can find out when I'm at practice later in the week.

2. Nutt was interviewed on KNWA while at the practice. Said something to the effect they haven't had much luck recruiting draftable quarterback prospects.

3. I'm not sure if or when it might be back up. It was taken down for several reasons and after discussions with the Wilson's.

i guess he refers to baseball draftable. he's already got one QB in this class. getting a second would really just be a luxury. the almighty pete carroll only recruits one QB a class.

Does anyone know if TW is the only player from Greenwood being looked at? One who has drawn interest from service academies and Ivy League schools is  All-State DT Travis Davis. He may be undersized for major D1 on the line, but could be a possibility at LB. The kid is very strong, smart, and has a great work ethic.

stats:

3.7 GPA
5'11"  253lbs
bench reps 32
40-5.0
sqat 550lbs
bench-400lbs

53 tackles, 40 solo, 8.5 sacks,  5 fumble recoveries

Also utilized on goal-line offense. He is the type of aggressive player UA is known for and worth a look by Nutt/Herring.

By the time he bulked up he would 5-11 290.........and he only runs a 5.0 40 that would probably look closer to a 5.3 at that size.

True, Is 5.3 really that much of a detriment for a lineman? If he dropped a few, maybe got to 240-245 & lowered the time to a 4.8 or so- that's not too bad for a LB. Heard that Gus is set to pay him a visit.

Herring likes em tall and fast.  His prototypical LB recruit is 6'1 to 6'3 and runs a high 4.4/4.5
