OT Matt Hall talks about Arkansas' Jr Day

[The Recruiting Guy]

I talked to Matt about 40 minutes ago. Here's what he had to say.


TRG How was Jr Day?

Matt: Great. It's always great being there, it feels like home. It was great seeing people you'll be playing with in the future.

TRG: What other recruits did you talk to?

Matt: I talked to Richard Watson. He looks like he'll be a heck of a running back. I would like to block for him.

TRG: What did you guys talk about?

Matt: We talked about Coach Vaughn and how we both liked him and how great a guy he is.

TRG: What is Coach Markuson telling you?

Matt: He's telling me he can't wait til I get up there and play for him. Just like I can't wait to play for him.

TRG: What are you doing to get better for your Sr year and the next level?

Matt: I like to jump rope and do the dot drill. The dot drill is good for foot work. After we run as a team I run 10 forty yard dashes and do 20 sets of bleachers. I want to be great. Being a big guy people are worried about your foot work but I plan to be ready to play whenever they need me to play.

TRG: Are you still getting contacted by school even though you're committed to Arkansas?

Matt: I get questionnaires from schools like LSU and Alabama and me and Coach Wilson will write committed to Arkansas or Go Hogs on the letter and send them back. Coach Markuson and Coach Nutt laugh when I tell them that.



The size and work ethic is there for Matt to be a standout at offensive tackle.. I like Matt's attitude.

Matt is one down to earth young man. No ego with him. I always enjoy talking to Matt. 

Matt will be on Press Row Friday morning at 7:40.

This guy is a beast.  By the way, what are his exact measurements.  I've been to three different recruiting sites and I"ve heard anywhere from 6-8, 350 to 6-10, 400.  I'm sure he'll be a monster but I was wondering what his exact measurements are.

He had a nice interview on Press Row.  I wish there were more kids like him.  He loves the Hogs as much as anyone.  I look forward to seeing him play in 2009!

He looks like a freakin beast!! With his size and speed he should be a 5 star recruit....don't you think?

He will probably be a 4 star recruit.  He needs to work on his footwork.  He does not have quick feet, and will project as a guard unless that element of his game improves. After a RS year he could become dominant if he works hard.

WOW!! I love to see a kid work his butt off after he has secured a schollie. Sounds like he is amped to be a Hog. This kid keeps working hard he will be a force in the future.
