My bet is Reggie Fish.  Great kid, but should not be on a D1 team.  Maybe he still gets to return punts, but that's it.  I hope with give Jarious a chance with punts (or Joe Adams if we get him).

Unless Michael smith can catch the ball out of the backfield he might not.

Casey Dick, will not have a place because he doesn't have the arm strength and accuracy down the field to play in petrino's offense

We will see.

Casey and Nathan played in a spread offense very similar to what Petrino runs in high school.

I admit it will be very interesting.

D. Curtis will be the punt returner, if we get him.

I think Reggie will still get some time for the simple fact that he is very quick.  I think that PP will work with him on running good routes and catching the ball.

I would think a guy like Rees or Lucas Miller might get squeezed out.  They were both primarily blocking WR.

SquidBilly

As crazy as it sounds, Mitch Petrus.  He was good at guard in a run oriented offense because he was quick enough to pull around to lead block.  In a passing offense though I have concerns.  Maybe they can slide him back to FB.

I agree they both played in that spread system, but anymore pretty much any high school quarterback that gets a scholarship is playing in a simliar system.  There is a huge difference in the arm strenght it takes to be successful making those throws in high school compared to making them in the SEC.  i agree i think it might be a dog fight but from everything i have seen and heard about Nathan I do believe he will win the job over his brother.

Petrus.  He's a run-first guard, and has an anvil for a head, but won't be able to do all that's asked of him in the pass protection schemes.  Look for some of our other OL to have the same problems
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Fish has the speed, but he seems to lack everything else about an SEC football player.

Lucas Miller. With all the incoming WR and a healthy Tuck and Cleveland, I believe he'll be riding the pine from here on out.

Heavens no.  Miller and Cleveland should form the core of the interior receiving next year;  Petrino loves the H-Back/TE types, and they were huge for Louisville during his tenure.

He's got Cleveland, DJ Williams, and Tuck for that role. Possibly even Davie. He doesn't have enough speed to play the outside spots. I just don't see him playing as much as he did this year.

Tuck has too much speed to play inside, especially as thin as we'll be at WR; he'll look to have at least one, if not two guys outside with some experience while working the Freshmen into the offense.   That leaves DJ, Miller, and Davie to split playing time.

I don't believe we will be thin at WR. We may be unproven, but not thin. Crawford, Tuck, Salters, Wade, Coleman, Miller all return and then we bring in Cruz Williams and the bunch from Warren. I like the depth.

Youth will lose out, especially early in the year;   Crawford and Tuck will probably start outside, with Cleveland as the slot.

Do we have any clue how our players were used versus how they SHOULD have been used under THCTWF?  We have all heard reports of favoritism and mismanagement from the previous staff.  I think we will be pleasantly suprised with the personnel development and placing with this staff.  THAT'S what we get for our money. :o :razorback:

Shizzle

I think they should try Fish at slot and use him like the Colts used Stokley for so many years. That the only real place I think he can play. I think we have seen Casey Dick take his last snap in a game situation, barring injury to 1 possibly 2 QB's in front of him. BP won't feel like he owes Casey anything for giving up his redshirt with 4 games remaining his freshman season.

DeAnthony Curtis is a slot back with speed to burn, as good a receiver as he is a runner....sure hope we get him...he could contribute right away, and maybe big.

Miller will be lucky to see the field again.  Petrus moves pretty well for a big guy, played some full back in 06, so might be a good pass blocking lineman.  Some of the other lineman basically just block for the run.  (remember how much time Dick had in the Cotton bowl).  It will be intersting to see if they can learn to pass block.

miller will play. he has too good hands not to play . this kid can be a very good wr going over the middle . what he lacks in speed he makes up with sure hands . a jerry rice style reciever

Wow, I never thought I'd see Lucas Miller and Jerry Rice mentioned in the same post.  :)  Miller is unproven at best.  He'll get a shot to play but I'll reserve judgment on how much time he'll be on the field.

I still think that Miller and Rees will see very minimal playing time this year considering that Nutt used them both primarily for blocking purposes.

Especially since Jerry Rice had excellent game speed and was very rarely caught from behind. Miller made a few good plays this year, but im not convinced. Tuck either. Tuck had about 4 catches this year, and most of them he was wide open. Yes the WR has something to do with that but he kind of lucked into the D not paying attention. Im not sold on either, but im really not sold on Tuck.

Crawford is Legit, I will see on Tuck and Miller.

Miller was arguably our best receiver this year, especially on 3rd down.   He doesn't belong in a Jerry Rice conversation, certainly, but he and Tuck are more proven than London Crawford.

i think lucas miller will have a good year.  seems to have great hands and good vision after the catch. JMO

If Casey was smart he would transfer asap to Ark Tech or UAM.
Only his brother can beat him out.  Tyler and Jim will be redshirted.  IMO, neither will be ready to start in the SEC 8 months from now.
