If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

matchups look to favor Big East......4 SEC teams get to play twice, maybe Arkansas can pull USF in one of those, sure would be interesting.

3kgthog

Georgetown by 25 over Bama, WVU by 18 over Auburn, Nova by 7 over LSU, and S. Carolina by 4 over Providence.

Concerning Bama, how the heck has Gottfried not been fired yet? That guy has blown more talent than Jenna Jameson.

jhudson84

G'Town over Bama 5-10 depending on location
W.V. over Auburn by 15
Nova over LSU by 10
Providence over S. Carolina by 2

Arkansas v. USF we can only dream.

Sanctified Swine

we want USF?  thats an embarrassment -
I want Syracuse - remember the team that did all the whiningg about us getting in the tourny and how they deserved it so much more than us.

USF has done nothing to us, except hire a coach we didn't want. Cuse on the other hand has a spanking coming.

How does the Big East get 3 of their best teams into this thing and the SEC has some of their worst teams?  Let's put Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas in those 4 games, then we sweep.

It's a 4 year plan, here's a post I wrote on another forum:

Big East, SEC plan annual matchup starting next season (4 years)
Posted on Friday, April 6, 2007

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Big East and SEC will match up for men's basketball games each of the next four years.

The Big East / SEC Invitational will start in December with four games over two nights at two sites, all televised by either ESPN or ESPN 2, the leagues and ESPN Regional Television announced Thursday.

"The Big East / SEC Invitational provides a great opportunity to showcase two of the nation's premier basketball conferences to a national television audience," SEC Commissioner Mike Slive said. "This event increases exposure for both conferences early in the season by creating exciting matchups that will appeal to college basketball fans across the country."
The Big East and SEC have produced a combined four of the past five NCAA men's basketball champions.

"This annual series is going to offer college basketball fans some high-quality December competition in first-class venues," Big East Commissioner Michael Tranghese said. "Were excited to be working with the SEC.

" Our schools have some great relationships with SEC schools in basketball and football and this series will only strengthen those ties."
The invitational is similar to the Big Ten-ACC challenge in November. 2007

MATCHUPS The following pairings have been announced for the first Big East-SEC Invitational:

AT BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (DEC. 5 ) West Virginia vs. Auburn (ESPN 2 ) Georgetown vs. Alabama (ESPN )

AT BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (DEC. 6 ) South Carolina vs. Providence (ESPN 2 ) LSU vs. Villanova (ESPN )

Where is Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas? The 5 teams that made the NCAA tournament last year from the SEC?... bleh

I'm only seeing 1 of their best teams, Georgetown. Pittsburgh, Louisville, Marquette & Notre Dame are better than the other 3 teams.

West Virginia and Villanova are just as good or better as Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, and Marquette most years.  Both teams just lost a bunch of players before last season.

bd93

Why aren't are best teams in this?

Are we just trying to make the Big East look good?

Its a 4 year deal...these would be interesting.

UCONN vs. FLORIDA
SYRACUSE vs. ARKANSAS
PITT vs. TENNESSEE
LOUISVILLE vs KENTUCKY
NOTRE DAME vs VANDERBILT
MARQUETTE vs. MISS. ST.

Footballref

Arkansas , Kentucky , Florida , Vandy , And all the rest get there turn these are just the four that got picked to go first.

Not real sure who or how they were picked though might have been a lottery.

We all will get our shot.
