I brought a blow up doll to the game, does that count?  ;D

Glad you had a good time.

Pregame:  I only got there an hour prior to kickoff so not much time to evaluate. But there were a ton of GREAT tailgates with big screens, grills, drinks and such. All the fans were fine. The worst thing I encountered was a few "Tiger Bait" taunts but they were good natured taunts.

The atmosphere:  What a let-down. One of the main reasons I went to this game was because I've always wanted to see the legendary Death Valley at night. At no point during the game was it as loud as Fayetteville. Not once. And most of the time it was DEAD. I asked several LSU fans what was wrong and they mostly said that LSU fans are either all in or disinterested. Once they lost to Alabama and were out of title contention they stopped caring. 7-1 record and ranked #9 and they are already giving up on the season. I can remember 2 third downs when the crowd tried to get loud to help their D...but the best they could muster was about like a Fayetteville third down when we're already up by 28 and on the way to an easy win. And the atmosphere wasn't lethargic just because we blew up to a 21 point lead. It was dead from the kickoff.

The fans:  At the game the fans basically ignored us. Neither rude not polite. This has been mentioned a lot all over, but the fans began leaving at half. At least 2,000 people walked out at half. It was only a 14 point game. Pathetic. Later when they cut it to 7 points and had tons of momentum, we countered with a fieldgoal and the floodgates opened. Just a 10 point difference and tons of time left and they were flowing out. I was completely stunned.

Post game:  The hog fans roared. It was sweet. The LSU fans quietly wandered away. I never saw anyone being confrontational to a Hog fan.

Overall:  Great game by the Razorbacks!  After all I've heard about LSU fans spitting on you and throwing bottles and all that (not doubting those things happened to others) I didn't see anything like that. The fans were a big disappointment in their fanhood...but they didn't give us any trouble at all. I was glad to see my Hogs silence that place but I was disappointed not to get the full LSU night game experience.

Go Hogs!

Sounds like the exact opposite of my experience there back when we had Mallet, Petrino, and crew.

Loud as hell, fans were mean, and we got ripped off at the end of the game as LSWho drove down to score a last second TD for the win.

Cant judge anyplace on one game I dont think. Except Mizzou, that place is just a S$%t hole.

Been there one time.  We went- me, the wife, college freshman daughter and high school junior daughter - in 2011 when they were ranked #1 in the BCS and we were ranked #3 (Tyler Wilson's junior season).  Like many, I went down there very curious about whether all the stories I'd heard were true.  Of course, the game itself turned out to be a huge disappointment (great start, then getting overwhelmed late, but getting to see CBP's four-letter shout out at Les was fun).

Regarding fans, my impressions were that the older fans were generally nice.  I remember as we parked and began our walk to the stadium we talked with lots of their fans and they were genuinely concerned about the game and had very respectful things to say about our team.  But as we got closer to the campus and began to encounter most of the younger fans and the college age kids, it got pretty bad.  Lots of things yelled at us; a couple of bottles thrown - not to hit us I'm sure but it was still kind of unsettling - and even a few that started following us and yelling at us as we walked.  Once we finally got into the stadium, most everyone was focused on the game so we didn't get any real abuse there.  Then, leaving the stadium, we just tried to keep a low profile and hurry back to our car as quickly as we could.  Nobody paid much attention to us.

Their stadium was extremely loud that day and I was impressed by all of that, but I think I've experienced louder at Alabama and Auburn (and yes, even DWRRS a time or two).  The lasting impression was the behavior of those young fans before the game, and it's probably the reason why we won't be going back to Baton Rouge.

One last thing; the worst I've ever seen opposing fans was at War Memorial after we played LSU in 2006.

The 2011 game is the one I attended as well. The loud speaker mic literally in my face taunting while 100's of people around jeered and encouraged as we were walking to the vehicle from the stadium is something I'll never forget.

I wonder if someone will call 911 and the Oxford PD to escort Brandon Harris out of the stadium.

Maybe @BRPD should have tried kicking the @RazorbackFB QB out of the stadium. We hear that helps. #TheMoreYouKnow #ARKvsLSU

I know it has been discussed ad nauseam, but I can't find where it is on the board.  If someone knows where please direct me.  Otherwise, where are your go to spots?

Doe's Steakhouse on Dickson is great!!
Meiji http://meijinwa.com/ is my favorite Sushi spot
The Catfish Hole. Hushpuppies, Catfish and Chicken Strips

For breakfast, you must go to http://www.thefarmerstablecafe.com/ Little slow on the service but worth the wait!
I also like the brunch offerings at Emelia's Kitchen on Dickson St.

If you want to wander up North, Oven and Tap http://www.ovenandtap.com/ downtown Bentonville square
-or-
Tusk & Trotter http://www.tuskandtrotter.com/ Downtown Bentonville Square.

Thanks. We are old and creatures of habit. We usually go to one of our old stomping grounds such as Hugo's , Herman's, Venetian Inn, etc. This year though we've made a concerted effort to try some new places. That's how we came about the Farmers Table. We also tried Hammondtree's Grilled Cheese this year and it was really good.

Trying to get waited on is a HUGE problem as well. I actually spoke to the Manager a few games ago. His attitude was You don't like it don't come here………..He didn't realize I've been in the Hospitalty business including Restaurants practically my whole adult life. He'd be glad I'm not a professional Restaurant critic after the way he spoke to us.

Hammontree's is always a good call. If you're sticking around til Sunday, Cafe Rue Orleans has great Sunday lunch food. For breakfast/Sunday brunch, Emelia's on Dickson is good as well.

As mentioned, the Catfish hole is a must.  If you want a place where you can chill and watch football I would recommend Foghorns.  The owner use to post on here (maybe he still does).  I recommend the Spice Garlic Parmesan wings.

If you want good breakfast go to Springdale.

Susan's
Sunset Café
Neil's
Wagon Wheel Café

All are a good breakfast for the money.

Pizza? Tim's or Guido's.

Mexican? Again head to Springdale. Try Las Palmas.

Steak? Does on Dickson.

Italian? Mama Z's in Tontitown or Mary Maestri's in Springdale (on 412 east)

Been to Susan's this year. We used to go there some when my Dad was still living. He really liked it. When we stayed in the Bentonville/Rogers area we've been a couple of times to Lucy's for breakfast. It was really good. I'm not sure if the one in Fayetteville is good or not or even run by the same people. Never been to it.

Go up to Tontitown and eat at Mama Z's. Get some of the onion rings while you're there. Some of the best in the state. As for them well done.

I had the meatball sub last time I was there and could not finish it.

We used to go there sometimes but they quit letting you bring your own wine……………..haven't been back since. I don't mind paying a reasonable corkage fee either. They said no. Venetian Inn always has let you.
