Then you can park in handicap spots right next to the buses in lot 56. Easy in and easy out with almost no walking

You mean the 3500 cars that were there? There were almost as many people in attendance than were there for the UK game and it was a 6pm tip during the middle of the week. What other 9-10 program would draw that many fans for a midweek 6pm tip?

OK! I'm a 1993 U of A Grad. For the first three years of my time in Fayetteville I frequently passed (usually on the way to Fuzzy's) what I thought was a condemned shack of a building located at the intersection of North Street & Garland Avenue. My junior year I met my future wife-to-be who was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. Late one evening early in our relationship she invited me to go on a "Chips & Cheese Dip" run for her sorority sisters to a place I was unfamiliar with, Casa Taco. Much to my surprise we ended up at that condemned shack of a building. It was at that moment that I was introduced to the BEST cheap mexican food I've ever had.

Casa Taco has had several incarnations throughout the years: it moved across the parking lot to the strip mall, it moved to the building next door to the original Casa Taco and I believe it even ended up in a gas station in Farmington for a period of time.

I was in Fayetteville a couple of weeks ago for the Texas Tech basketball game and as gesture of good will, was going to swing by Casa Taco and get my wife a large cheese dip and chips to take home for old times sake. To my horror, when we pulled into the parking lot of what SHOULD have been Casa Taco we found some sort of Sub Sandwich Shop.

For those of you that live in the Fayetteville metroplex and are also aficionados of CHEAP mexican cuisine that could also be served with a side of hepatitis, has Casa Taco relocated to some other upscale venue or much like Fuzzy's will it have to become a fading memory of a misspent youth?

I also graduated in 1993. I don't have a recollection of casa taco but I have fond memories of fuzzy's. I loved the strips. And the beer.

Marlo's Taco Shack?

https://twitter.com/fayflyer/status/685596219184295936

Yep! That's it. The last time I was there it had moved next door and they were using this (the original Casa Taco) as the drive thru window.

Marlo's was awesome!  Casa Taco moved to a different spot in the same shopping center.  At one time, like 2002 or so, there was an infamous bullet hole in the window.

My friend used to get trashed and order Casa taco at 4 am.  By the time they delivered, he was passed out and unable to answer the door. Haha. Sorry, delivery dudes.

They eventually move to 6th st under a different name. Closed now. Any form of the old Casa Taco is now gone.

Longtime local restaurant Marlo’s Taco Shack recently closed its doors.

A post on the business’ Facebook page indicates that a family dispute and some issues with the landlord of the property are partly to blame for the closure.

http://www.fayettevilleflyer.com/2016/01/12/restaurant-news-kraken-killer-seafood-john-dalys-mockingbird-kitchen-more/

That whole Mt. Comfort Rd. plaza needs to be redone.

I'm not a commercial property genius but it seems like that would be a prime place for restaurants.

Plenty of parking, along the path of game-day traffic, and easy access for students.

ADD: Mojo's and Lucky Luke's are fine dining establishments but they could redo the old buildings in bring in some new blood.

Also King Pizza was some real good cheap pizza. Grew up on that stuff too.

Oh Casa Taco!!!  Was in school in late 90's-early 00's.  Only place I know where multiple friends got DWI's passing out in the drive-through and would let you stand on tables tops like it was no big deal.  Plus, it would take so long to get delivery it wasn't uncommon to pass out waiting.  Sometimes paying and all your buddies eating the food.  Ah, the memories.

Taco Shack has Casa Taco beat by a long shot.   In high school, I could run down there and grab a $2 meat-and-cheese nachos.

I'm plying my Keystone Ice drunk brain from about 1992 but I seem to recall walking down from Hotz Hall for all-you-can-eat something or other at Casa Taco (renamed Taco Casito for a bit?) with some regularity.

Fuzzy's is gone?

Grr...

Please tell me Hugo's still exists...

Both of these responsible for the "freshman 20" pounds I put on in college back in early eighties. Late night munchies. King Pizza on Leverett had the first real video arcade I can remember too. Tron and space invaders. Those were the days...

I often do but spend most of my time on the South side of the stadium.  I never thought to query re Hugo's or Fuzzy's.  I just presumed they'd always be there...

Someone mentioned La Huerta?  Ah, yes, "Especial La Huerta."

There was one slim hipped waiter with Billy Ray Cyrus hair that was always trying to get with the co-eds...  It was hilarious to see, I just don't recall the name...
