Now before the non-HipHop people on this board get confused, Catfish just took a verse from the song "Ridin" by Hakeem Seriki better known as Chamillionaire and added a little flavor of Steven Hill.

keeping w/ the hip hop references...Steven Hill flies high, no lie, you know this BALLIN!  In the paint, inside, it's called defence
Anyone see Jim Jones playing for Arkansas State last night.

Congrats Hill!!!

I cannot remember, who is the player in the SEC that gave him the nickname "ERASERBACK?"

Pigskin_Porker

That's awesome for Steven, but he got snubbed from the 1st or 2nd team which is laughable for them to leave him out of. . .

how does the defensive player of the year not make all-conference?

probably because they look at the entire body of work, i.e. both offensive and defensive stats.  Statistically Horford and Rhodes were better offensively than Hill.

not bad for a "girl" with "long hair" who "sucks" and is "terrible" and has "no heart."

I hope the Hill detractors are enjoying their all-you-can-eat-1.99 crow buffet.
Oh my!

It was Alabama's big PF Richard Hendrix.

Thanks, G.  And a +1 for you as well.

I look for Hill to have an even better offensive improvement next year and still keep his defense ability.

No.

The best defensive player in the league should make 1st or 2nd team. There is no debate.

By that logic, Mark Eaton was All NBA in 84-85, and 88-89.

Defense is just one aspect of the game-- and a very important one-- but its not the end-all-be-all of what defines being the Best.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

bullshite, there is no debate since the measurement they use to select these (statistics) don't warrant him being on either of those..There are two center postions, 1st and 2nd team, Hill only led the league in blocked shots and is not even listed on any other statitical cats, to include defensive rebounds (Top 15 on some, Top 30 on scoring)...now taking off the Hog glasses for a moment and you were sitting there voting, would you vote Hill as one of the best centers based on leading one statistical cat?   He was not the best center in terms of his overall body of work, as I stated, last I checked basketball is both offense and defense.  You can excel at one side, which would get you the DPOY award or be solid on both sides and make All-SEC.  Now there is no debate about that.

Thank goodness he didn't go the Curtis Blow route "Basketball is my favorite sport, I love the way they dribble up and down the court...ha..ha..ha...ha..."   I hated that song...lol
