They should leave Beale Street, Autozone Park and maybe the Peabody standing, and cut the rest of that craphole off into the river.  I've lived an hour away from there all my life.  Been there more times than I can count.  I've always hated the city.

I don't go to Memphis nowadays without my .38 in the middle compartment.  Somebody gets shot there damn near every day.

Been to Little Rock lately?  Worse.

Little Rock is in the Top 25 for most dangerous city to live in. I think I read it in Forbes, but it was last year.

Actually Memphis and St. Louis were both ranked just above LR in the most dangerous cities in the US.

I'll take New Orleans for restaurants ove rMemphis EVERYDAY.
The Memphis airport sucks hind tit.  I'd rather catch connections and fly out of LR than nonstop and fly out of Memphis.
Crime there does suck and crime in LR has gone up since Katrina.
Memphis is an eyesoar driving through on 40 or 55.

Oh yea- there is a reason people don't move to Memphis, but to the burbs - Germantown, Olive Branch, Bartlett - just so they can say they Don't live in Memphis.

And on a similar subject - there is a reason they call Shreveport - Sh!tport.

Memphis averaged 6 murders a day last year.

According to the "First 48 Hours" show on A&E, which chronicled Memphis Homocide detectives.

I'm from Central Ar. and will go to any neighborhood in LR at any time.

Memphis scares the @#$$ out of me, however.

Dude...do the math.  6 times 365 days equals over 2000 murders. Memphis is a rough town...but not that rough.

The all-time worst year of homicides in Memphis was 1993 with 213. The number that was thrown out about 6 a day...213 would  have been reached in 35.5 days.

Again, Memphis may have her problems, but that is a messed up number...6 a day...wow!  Where did that come from?

a great airport,

Compared to what airport? I take it you haven't been to an airport with the big ole planes takin' off.

Considering FedEx and NW are hubs there, that is the worst airport I've seen...

Oh side note, I went to HS in Memphis and my HS has turned into a prision from what I understand.

The airport must have had something going for it...It landed the second most planes in North America on 9/11.  All I know is that since it is a hub for NWA, it is often much easier to get non-stop flights to various destinations as opposed to having to take trips containing multiple stops.  It is also very easy to get in and out of, there is plenty of parking, it is equally accessible to downtown and the suburbs as well as north Mississippi and FedEx has used it to become a fortune 500 company traded on the NYSE...which by the way was a company Little Rock had a chance to land but passed on.

Grew up 40 miles from Memphis, was there today as a matter of fact.  Crime is through the roof right now..absolutely no comparison in quality of life between NWA and Memphis.  No disrepect to the folks who live there....but given a choice, that's an easy one, especially if you don't have family ties.

I lived there for 5 years.  Loved it.  It has its ups and downs.  I wouldn't want to raise my family there but I had a great time there and go back to visit 4 or 5 times a year.  Looking forward to some Rendezvous ribs and a Silky's bucket in a few weeks. ;D

I've never lived there, and never will. I usually have to stop and get gas there when driving from Bentonville to Augusta, GA where my wife's family lives. The place is dirty, nasty, and awful dark even on a sunny day. Is there a GOOD side of Memphis? Everybody I've ever talked to says only Jackson, Miss compares to Memphis. Never been to Jackson, but if it's like Memphis I never will.

I was working there one day and a bro was shooting from the balcony of boarded up apartment building at another bro who was running directly toward my job site. The same apartment buliding that a crossdressed prostitute would emerge from every day at about 7:00 am......have to be alert when you are there.

I lived in Memphis from ages 5 to 38. The city started crumbling around 1980 and has gotten worse. I picked Russellville as a good place to live and now live in Maumelle. Memphis has it's nice spots but they are outside the city limits. Corey Beck, Dwight Stewart and I graduated from Fairley High School.

NWA is a no-brainer.
Does JC have school-age kids?  If so, he would not have to send his kids to private school for them to receive a decent education in NWA.  All of my friends and colleagues tell me they have to send their kids to private school there, correct me if that is bad information.
