I think you can add 3 SEC teams that will be looking for a new head coach

Yep, Butch is out at TN, the only question is whether he coaches through the last game.

and apparently Gary Andersen walked away from something like an $12M buyout.  See link below. He apparently freed OSU from the high buyout.  Hmmmm, interesting.

The real question as to why he would do this?

Sumlin?

Gus prolly, I think Aubarn fans had enough.  Lose to Clemson, atleast its respectable, defending champions and all. Lose to LSU and coach O mumbles and that's unforgivable.  Bama will put the final nail in the coffin. Just my opinion

Jones at Tenn should be fired, BB at Arkansas should be fired, Sumlin keeps his job, I believe.  Auburn has standards above what Gus is giving.  He could get fired.  Aubbie will need to believe they can get someone better.  8 or 9 win seasons won't cut it at Auburn.

With the injuries and suspensions, to go with some good recruiting classes recently and a young QB, I think he deserves one more year. He did win the East twice in a row.

If bielema had been fired last year...like he probably should've been based on the way the season ended and the lack of hope in recruiting, I think it would've been easier to get a good coach, now we have to compete with the likes of Florida and Tennessee?? Don't have a great feeling about it. Regardless, Bret should be fired immediately after this game if it's a loss.

There are High School coaches in Ark that could do a better job than this staff.

There's a coach just down the road who wants this job and is talked about in the National media as highly sought after.

If Auburn loses to Georgia and Alabama, Malzahn may gracefully exit the Plains before he is forcibly removed.

Well, according to Bret, he hasn't talked to Jeff Long about job security, therefore there is nothing to update that is official.  Rumor and just rumor is that upper management above Jeff Long is unhappy but one would presume Jeff is happy with the situation as is.  Jeff did say that Bret knew winning more was necessary just to satisfy the fans, basically.

One would think that Bret would know he is in trouble as our HC but who knows, it appears that he didn't know he couldn't coach so maybe he doesn't realize his job could be on the line.

Many believe all the Boards are right on top of the situation.  This includes The Board of Trustees, Board of Regents, Board of Directors, Boardcamp, Board as in the old fashion paddle of yesteryear, skateboard, floorboard, just bored, who knows?

If we look back on how the boards or bored have handled this for the past 25 to 30 years, we know this group is not Allstate, the good hands people.  Expect another disaster.

Not so sure about that.  Isn't he the kind of coach that Arkansas is looking for.  He understands the people and culture of Louisiana.  He is one of "them".  I sorta got the feeling he was well liked.  My guess is he has a bit longer leash that that.

I hope we are talking to M.A.C. already.

I think that they are both good choices.  I would leant towards Norvall because he obviously understands the state and people of Arkansas and would most likely, if he turns out to be the man we want him to be, would b probably be here for the duration.   The other guy probably doesn't know that much and may very well, considering the circumstances, if successful just see this as a stepping stone to something a little higher up the ladder.

He was at Boise without Gus too. He graduated from Alma, so maybe Sonic could get some new buzz. Seriously though, he is really young and needs some HC experience before he would be a real candidate.

The funny thing about him is that he wanted to coach at Alma, and they wouldn’t give him anything more than junior high reaponsibilities. That’s when Gus hired him at Springdale.

Not surprised. He just got blown out by a winless Georgia Southern who had fired their coach earlier this season.
