We shouldn't touch any of these kids with a 10 foot pole.

I'll take em. these kids and families might not even think they were doing anything wrong.  They may have thought it was slightly shady, but at the end of the day, getting money to pay their bills was too hard for them to turn down. It may not even had been his choice, his parents may have forced his hand bc they needed the money.  The point is that none of us know the situations that some of these recruits are in at the time.  Can everyone here honestly say they would absolutely never accept any incentives or maybe a job?

Everyone makes mistakes, at least this kid and his family have basically owned up to it by decommitting and backing away from the situation.  Why not give him a second chance?

Thats not the point.  The point is that they would be ineligible.

So you think they will go overseas and play for a year and then on to the NBA?

Why automatically assume this kid did anything wrong?
The article didn't mention that.
If I had a kid that was committed to a school and their asst coach was arrested by the FBI / I would encourage my kid to think about playing somewhere else.

I think most people are just assuming there is something shady going on in his recruitment for the fact that Auburn landed a 5 star recruit when they have been a bottom dweller in the SEC forever, I mean who else would it likely be?  I agree it may be a bit unfair to the kid to assume this, but it is a message board.

It has been implied that Auburn has at least two on their squad right now who have been paid.

Yes because there is no possible chance that a kid would not want to come here because we haven't had much success in recent history... I mean it has to be the money right???

It doesn't HAVE to be, but when numerous recruits mention it being a 'business decision' it smacks of an agent whispering those exact words into some kid's ear.

Oddly enough his hometown Miami team isn't a option either..
