Anybody been there or lived there?  It sounds interesting....

Been to Roatan and Suc Suc but not Utila which is basically a boat ride over. Beautiful and inexpensive. Utila mostly a dive destination but has some great beaches. If like the other islands 45-50 dollars will get you hot water and probably some air conditioning(although may be a small charge for the air). Cold water, no air, and possibly a shared bath 20-25 a night. An American style home on the beach steps from the water around 1500 a week.

Thanks, I've been to Roatan too and liked it.   I was just looking at Utila and intrigued.  I didn't have sand fly (flea) problems when I was in Roatan, but I sure read a lot of stuff about them.

Spent a week in Utila in the late sixties-----it's probably changed.
