SEC commissioner Sankey on expansion: ‘That’s simply not a front-burner issue'

"It's the 'E' word for me," Sankey told Finebaum. "Almost any venue, if I take questions from an audience (it's), 'When will the conference expand?' And the answer is, 'That's simply not a front-burner issue.' We've got 14 great universities. I can assure I fill my days and weeks focused on the issues around the current SEC membership and the overall intercollegiate athletics landscape. You never say never, but it's not a front-burner issue. And we just announced revenue (from) last year that was our highest ever. It continues to progress, and we want to be sure that we keep those programs strong."

SEC announced it divided total revenue of more than $584 million among member schools for 2015-16 fiscal year.
