Missouri linebacker Eric Beisel seemingly has a chip on his shoulder, and it appears he's already taking it out on this week's opponent.

Despite a mediocre performance in a 63-37 loss to Tennessee last week — which included the most points a Mizzou team has allowed this millennium — the junior had some strong words for rival Arkansas, which travels to Faurot Field on Friday for the third annual Battle Line Rivalry game.

Actually, those strong words were for "Ar-Kansas" because Beisel refused to pronounce his rival's name correctly.

"We're going to take some aggression out on Ar-Kansas this Friday, this Black Friday," he added. "It's going to be a black-out game. They're not going to see what's coming. If they do decide to show up, like I said, it'll be a huge mistake.

"A lot of that falls on me as the middle linebacker," Beisel said, regarding last week's blowout loss. "I take a lot of accountability for them getting those yards and for them scoring. Obviously we're going to make some changes and progress, and when we step out there against Ar-Kansas, we're going to dominate."

Had to laugh at this one. I like the guy actually. He has a pair and he and the team went out and backed up his talk with a victory. He was taking playful jabs and it really wasn't mean spirited at all.

Not sure the basketball kittycats have any fight left, or anyone on their team like this guy. Nevertheless, this is a team that took a (#2 at the time) ranked Xavier to the wire before falling by 2. So, who knows what might reignite them for a similar burst and if that might be enough to put a scare into the Hogs in Columbia.
