Hoggy Bear

So as a greyshirt, does he sign or can he still sign with a school like the Hogs to give him a full ride?

He can change his mind and sign wherever if he pleases

Hog Fan...DOH!

Come on over, big boy.  It worked out nicely for Los Angeles Charger, Darius Philon.

Unless he has a [another] change of heart, I think he's still set on Bama. Personally, I don't think he'll ever see the field there and will likely transfer to JUCO. Grey shirting sets him behind the 8 ball as far as getting in the system and being developed by the coaches. Sitting out of the game for a year while now practicing can also be detrimental. It does allow him to mature, seeing as his eligibility doesn't start until the following year, which he would then still have 5 to play 4. But there's just so much competition and talent there, seems it's too much to overcome unless you're a world beater. And if you are, why would you subject yourself to jump through hoops to play for Satan after he dropped you rather than go to another highly successful program and contribute?

He's a top 150 player. He'll likely see the field in a couple of years.

Bama brings in multiple top 150 players every year, there is no guarantee they'll have room for him next year either.  As Rock City pointed out, there is a lot of risk to sitting out and not practicing/playing.

Touche. Wonder if he has a family connection to Bama or something? By the time he gets there, Saban may have his last two Championships and might be on his way out (I hope).

I doubt there will be room for him next year either.  Nick just moves on.
Plus Nick will be retiring in about 2 years anyway, well I hope

It's crazy how many top players they get without ever seeing the field.  They could come to a team like ours and go right to the Pro's but it's hard to tell that to a 17-18 year old kid that dreams of playing for the tide.  I wish Philon could talk to them.
