It is now the top of the 14th.  The score between Ole Miss and Vandy is 5-5.  Ole Miss has two on, two out.  Scratch that, one strike out later, and it is now the bottom of the 14th Vandy at bat still tied 5-5.  Three up, three down, to the 15th they go.  Same top half of the 15th, now the bottom-no score there either, now to the 16th.  Ole Miss scored a run in the top of the 16th and made it stand up.  OM is now 6-8.  Night all.

Alabama won in 12 over Georgia.

I think your analysis is correct, but I wouldnt be surprised to see us finish at least fifth, higher if somebody stumbles down the stretch.  Theres still a good bit of baseball left and we are just about to start hitting our stride.
