Hey guys....I wanna try something here with feedback needed. I would like to have a single thread to discuss all the polls and where the razorbacks rank. Keep a running thread for discussion. Makes it easier to look back and say, 3 weeks ago we were here, now we are here."

Just an idea for now. We can always go back to numerous threads if that is the preference.

Like or dislike?

I like the idea of a single thread on this subject.

I don't post in EI much as I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to baseball but I do read in here a lot and I think the single rankings thread is a great idea. Would like to see something similar in MMQB and JB in the future.

After going 1-2 in the LSU series:
Hogs moved up 9 spots in Nolan's RPI to 140 from 149 as of Sunday.
SOS went to 84 from 131.

That's an improvement, but we have to start gaining some serious ground in RPI a hurry.

It really would and then u get a very good opportunity to take the series at auburn. Some if us have held firm that there is a tin if baseball left.

Will be Ace vs Ace tonight so we have to get TK some runs.

It is possible for our RPI to drop, even with a win.

Just checked the weather; Tuesday - High in the upper 70's. Wednesday - Upper 70's with a chance of a stray thunderstorm.

As long as we win, it will not hurt our RPI more than a few spots. The SOS is what is going to take a huge hit. Two home games with them will cost us probably 10-15 spots in SOS, if not more.

Having both Eastern Illinois and MVSU is not good at all, though. Our RPI would be pretty good right now if not for the weather.

I sure thought we would get in the 40's...

I'm not as worried about it now. We are in barring a monumental collapse and could likely  host if we take the 4 series we have left. Throw a sweep in somewhere for good measure.

flippinhogmana

It might get down into the forties (like down a couple to 49) when the play on west coast is finished and tabulated.

We might still get there. Wait for the west coast to finish up, just like Flip just said.

Still could happen, but we fell to 62 as games went final during our game 3. SOS is awesome, though. From 48 to 15th. We should finish with a top 30, maybe top 25 SOS, though. We only have 1 top 50 opponent left, so I do not think we could host at this point. I think we have dug ourselves too big of a hole, unless we swept a couple series. We may break the top 25 this week, according to Kendall Rogers, though.

This is good news, we get more media coverage in the top 25 or near it.

We are like 42nd in the coaches poll, eight places below South Carolina if that makes any sense.

I know it.  There isn't one or two polls that decide everything in college baseball like there is in the other two big sports.  Kinda nice in a way because you get several opinions instead of very few.  Makes things more interesting IMO.  As far as polls go.

I'm never very concerned about the polls for baseball. Many unranked teams will make the regionals. This year concerns me less as I simply want the Hogs to make the field and see what damage they can do. The experience for our newer guys will be invaluable down the line.
