I mean, Portis already announced.  This article is a bit behind.

Maybe he comes out and says:

You must have missed the part where Arkansas is calling a press conference where Portis AND QUALLS are announcing their decisions. So that is news, if true

Hawg Red

My immediate feeling is not a good one.

I get that.  I guess this is just the official announcement?

RacinRazorback

Not looking like either one will stay. Just my gut feeling.

I knew after neither said a peep last night they were gone. Sad day for Hog fans; great day for these young men
I'd rather be dead than be a Vol

We will know for sure at the PC. The wait is killing me. I need to hear the words come out of each of their mouths. I think both are great players. Will cross my fingers. Go Hogs!

Well, Bobby tweeted it himself. That is as good as hearing it. He is gone. Qualls is the only one in question.

As confirmed with the Arkansas Athletic department's announcement, this is a PC slated for Portis and Anderson only at this time.   Don't jump off the bridge just yet.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Thepigdoctor

Bobby was trolling fans with his tweet, both will announce they are coming back.

I know, I know, just let me have this for now.

If that's the case, there is hope.

I just had Chet Carpenter read the email from the Basketball SID about the announcement, on his radio show, on air.

At no time was Qualls mentioned.

If Qualls stays things will be a little tougher for him next year.
He doesn't have another star around him.
I can see where he might think his stock could actually drop without Portis drawing the attention.

Your stock cannot drop when you do not have any. He will be lucky to be a late 2nd round pick, and at that point nothing is guaranteed. If he leaves now, I would put the odds of him playing overseas at probably around 90%. The only way his stock doesn't increase, is if he gets injured or suspended.

So basically all my complaining was for nothing and I'm a dumbass.  I should have just watch the presser BEFORE commenting.

Good luck in the NBA. I believe Portis is making a  big mistake that he will regret someday but that someday will only be after he makes a lot of money in the NBA. Program will be set back some and recruiting will be vital. :razorback:

Probably worded that poorly.
I don't see Qualls getting drafted this year, either - the reason to come back is to improve your stock so that next year you do get drafted.
I think, the chances of Qualls being able to do that goes down without Portis around drawing most of the attention.
He may just choose to go overseas and make some money.

From the PC:
Coach Anderson: He has been a great basketball player, but also a great ambassador for our team and our state

Bobby Portis: Today is a good day for me to try and take that next step and go to the NBA. It is what all kids dream of.

Bobby Portis thanks his coaches, his teammates and the managers.

Bobby Portis: My mom works from 2 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bobby Portis: My mom wanted me to make the decision for me, not for her

Coach Anderson: This wasn't an easy decision for Bobby. He has been wrestling with this decision.

Anderson: Told that he will be from lottery to the end of the first round

Coach Anderson: I think he made the right decision

Bobby Portis: I made my season probably last Tuesday.

Bobby Portis: I believe I have showed kids in state that you don't have to go to Kentucky or schools like that to live your dream.

Portis: I kinda wanna cry, but I ain't gonna cry.

Portis: For 22 days I have been going back and forth with my decision. I didn't want to make anyone mad.

Portis is a good, sensitive kid and will always be loved around these parts. He has always 'represented' well.

Good luck to him.

PC ended.  Nothing on Qualls which makes sense.

That link has bad info.  I bet they update it.

Believe it when he tells you about his Mom's attitude and work ethic.
I have a family member that works with her and says she works hard, is super nice and rarely talks about Bobby and what he's accomplished.

if he thinks like that he needs to go,but I,m thinking he will see the opportunity to be the man and turn it in to something like a much better draft spot.

IMO that is one thing that makes a huge difference. Kids who see their parents continuously busting their tail to provide and give their kids a better life normally bleeds into how they approach life. I coach high school basketball and not every kid knows how to work hard. It's normally something that is taught to them and typically is taught through action from their parents working their tails off to give them a better life. KD spoke to that in his MVP speech last year and I'm sure BP would say much the same about his mom.

One person can't do it alone.
Got to replace Portis' numbers with some other players.
Hopefully the guys we have coming in can do that.
