Wouldn't players on both teams have the same amount of pressure?

Yep.  And you sort of had to see it coming.  Cal was brash then as he can be now and as he was at Memphis.

Hogs fans remember getting dissed.  I remember Joe Paterno's shot after The Big Shootout.

Where Cal is concerned, all is forgiven. 🙂

Quote from: Pork Ranger on Today at 12:00:27 pmIt's from a few years back but you can watch it on ESPN+. Really good documentary and gives you everything you need to know about the man and his coaching career.

I was too young to remember much from the 1994 season and didn't realize how bad Cal and UMass stuck it to us that year. The man's been a helluva coach for a very long time. Good times ahead

Quote from: scottagee on Today at 03:00:52 pmYou are 100% correct at the young developmental level. My son and I run a low level AAU/travel ball type basketball program. We have keys to the local high school gym as they basically bless our efforts. We only charge parents for uniforms(commitment) and we buy food and water and snacks at practice and tournaments. Our goal is to help kids. We have moved several on to higher level programs where they will get better exposure. We have helped 3 kids so far get college scholarships at the NAIA level. We draw from 5 county schools(so far) in a mostly white county. But these kids want to be better. Their parents see them dominate park ball in our area and believe them to be NBA material. The ones that really want it are the ones there every time we open the gym. Even during our off season we open for pick up games in a great gym after church on Sunday night. We have enough people there we have to run an under 14 game for every adult game. Year round basketball kids show up to play.

Kids develop skills early.  Some become single minded.  I'm sure you see that and it's those kids you're helping most.  Sports is good for self-esteem even for those who might not be great.  Especially when a coach is encouraging.

Can the major league draft be messsing with the minds of any SEC baseball players?

Are some feeling the pressure of only having a few more shots to impress the scouts?

Quote from: codeHog on Today at 03:55:05 pmI suppose our team is unhappy with the results but they have all played a lot of baseball so they are not down on themselves too much
I absolutely agree. Those kids are upset with themselves but will bounce back. They've done it all year so I see no reason to see them stop now.

I have one among the instruments here at what sometimes becomes a songwriter retreat.  Anyone can join in a song here, even Will Ferrell.

Quote from: joshog on Today at 03:47:33 pmThat depends on the next two weeks too. I don't see us beating A&M at A&M and Miss State has come on lately.  If we don't find our bats we could possibly lose the next two series.
Well Hogs are guaranteed wins with Hagen pitching. So going into a series with one essentially under your belt is a helluva starting point. I don't see Hogs losing both.

Our current schedule should not hurt us

Who else is playing the ranked teams we are

I was hoping to end 4-4 in our last eight but starting out at 0-2 makes that hard so I will accept 3-5
