H. Nutt offered a Position on his staff to GM last summer.
GM turned it down and suggested to H. Nutt the he RE-offer
after the 2005 season ended.
Then why didn't Gus take the position? Was it because being a OC for Arkansas is a step down from a HC at a High School?  WOW!!
I think Nutty wanted him to be a qb coach or recievers coach...not OC.

Thanks for the F Shack.

Sorry. My point was being an assistant at a college level is a step higher than any position in High School.  If Guvhog  says that Gus turned it down because he knew he would win a State Championship is mind boggling.  I believe he is contradicting what he is saying about that and that was my point.

Unless most fans in Arkansas believes it's a step down to be an assistant at Arkansas than being a coach in High School.  If that is the case than there is a word to describe Arkansas FB, MEDIOCRITY!!!

GuvHog

I agree BD 07, Being a Collage caoch Is a step higher than a high school coach.
Gus wanted the job, but he was loyal to tha large group of Seniors at
Springdale, and wanted to finish the job he started. That's why he asked H. Nutt to RE-offer after the season ended.
