Because a playoff would take up the dead time of December and the NC Game could be played on New Years Day every freaking year. Involving the top 16 teams in the country.

I am 100% supportive of a playoff system, but can't make it happen.  Apparently the fans across nation can't make it happen or it would already be the case.  So quit beating the meat, the horse is dead.

Let's be honest here;  crappy bowl games are not a modern invention.   When we were kids, we had such fantastic bowls as the Blue Bonnett, the California Bowl, the Camellia Bowl, the Houston Bowl, the Suflower Bowl, the Heritage Bowl, etc.

These are just the latest group of bowls that need to go the way of their craptacular ancestors.

Other than the SEC, it's been pretty hard to keep interested in the bowls this season.  There's way too many meaningless bowl games to not come up with a better solution.  Considering since college football is the only sport in the NCAA that doesn't have a playoff system I truly believe that one day we'll get it.
