I was looking at the Poll, and the performances of the ranked teams so far this week, and after looking at a few teams, I think with a win over Clemson it's still possible that we are ranked going into next week.  And if we aren't we'll be really close.

Teams that also lost below us
#19 Michigan State - Loss @ Notre Dame
#21 Maryland - Loss at home to #7 Virginia
#24 Illinois - Loss at home to # 15 MIA

Plus #16 West Virgina lost at home to LSU.

We should keep our rankings before all of those teams.  And the only team that just missed out on being ranked that hasn't lost yet this week is Oklahoma State, but they still have a road game coming up against South Carolina.

Edit: Also forgot about Northern Iowa, they are still undefeated.

We will be ranked with a win over clemson. No doubt about it.

SMU beating an undefeated Wyoming team tonight would also help our case.

All depends on what the scoreboard reads at 6pm Sunday.

Im more pessimistic than you guys. I think we might stick around at about #25 or so, but i really think we might fall out of the rankings, atleast for 1 week. we lost by nearly 20 points, even though it was on the road and to a very good team. I think to the casual observer they will see it as a sign of us being overrated, and not necessarily that ISU is good and we played poorly in the first half. Just my honest opinion

Iowa State is damn good team and the voters know that. Win at Clemson and we're still ranked. I'd be shocked if that weren't the case. If not, all we have to do is beat Dayton.

I just can't see losing to a top 20 team on the road and dropping 8 spots unless half the teams in the other's receiving votes beat raked teams on the road this week, which I don't believe any of them did. The poll committee are not casual observers. That loss still shot our RPI up into the top 15 and top 10 on some sites. Beat Clemson on the road and we only drop a couple spots "if any". Just make sure you beat Clemson.

They're not falling out of the Top 25, unless they lose today.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I think the Hogs stay comfortably in the polls into February.  This week will be a drop but then the climb will be high enough to where they should remain in due in part to the schedule.

I say we drop to 22-23 in the polls.

Maybe if we win by 60 today, we can climb to 10-12. :D

Not a chance we fall out of the AP with a win. In the AP poll, the first 4 or 5 teams out of the poll all lost. That is not even counting the teams around us who lost. There are not enough teams to jump in to justify us dropping 9+ spots. Michigan drops out before we do.

It is far more likely we stay in the top 20 than we fall out of the top 25 completely. I would say we will be around 20 or 21, and ISU jumps up 4 or 5 spots.

This assumes we beat a bad Clemson.
