Any of you guys that have listened to CM Punk on the Colt Cabana podcast (and if you haven't, you should) knows that Punk and Cabana went to town on the WWE Doctor.  Particularly about a staph infection, that punk said to be the size of a baseball, which the doctor refused to treat because "it didn't hurt" and he was "lazy".

The doctor is suing for defamation of character.  Saying the lies told on the podcast has discredited his ability to do his job and questioned his integrity.

Phil Brooks, better known as CM Punk, is being sued by World Wrestling Entertainment's senior ringside physician Dr. Christopher Amann for comments the former wrestler made during a podcast appearance last year.

The news was first reported by The Cook County Record on Thursday. In addition to Brooks, Amann is also suing Scott Colton, who goes by the alias Colt Cabana and is the man behind "The Art of Wrestling" podcast.

Amann is seeking more than $1 million in compensatory damages and an undetermined monetary amount of punitive damages due to claims that both Brook's and Colton's comments on the Nov. 26 episode were false, defamatory and portrayed him improperly.

Brooks made it clear during his appearance on the show that his departure from the professional wrestling company was due in large part to medical oversights during his tenure, which included: a lump on his back that Brooks says was misdiagnosed as a fat deposit that he ultimately discovered -- after his WWE departure -- was a staph infection.

In addition, Brooks said Amann didn't know how to properly treat a concussion, retelling a story where the doctor prescribed antibiotics for the condition.

In the lawsuit, Amann claims that all the statements and accusations are incorrect. In particular, the graduate of Michigan University details how he properly treated the concussion.

From the actual complaint, Amann says the statements from the podcast "are highly offensive in that they accuse [him] of a gross lack of integrity as a medical doctor, an inability to perform his professional duties as a medical doctor, and in placing the financial interest of his employer above life-threatening health conditions of his patients."

The lawsuit was filed on Thursday and both Brooks, as well as Colton, have yet to make any public remarks regarding the case.
