I used to live in virginia beach and some of the thng I like to do were play beach volleyball on 72nd st  make sure you try some she-crab soup.  take a tour of the naval ship yard and One of the Carriers if you can.  Take a drive down to the back waters. and if you have time go to williamsburg and Busch gardens.

I live here.  I guess the ocean is the big draw.  Virginia Beach hotels are nice.  Battleship Wisconsin at NAUTICIAS (downtown Norfolk), avoid the roads between 6:00 am - 8:30am and 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.  If you need more info, let me know.

Went to VB last summer, it was a long drive but worth it.
Loved the beach and the resort area.
Stayed at the Holiday Inn on Atlantic right on the beach.
The is a great night life down there.
Spent a week there and didn't get to do half the stuff we wanted.
I plan on going back in a year or two, but I'm gonna fly next time.  ;)
Have fun.
