I saw the video you posted. Any more information for us?

How close might he be to getting an offer from CMA?
Hoping the Hogs basketball fortunes change for the better this season.

Well, I had to delete that video interview. UA does not permit on-campus interviews with recruits during visits -- I thought that only pertained to official visits, so I was mistaken ... anyway, I deleted it from Twitter. Too bad, because it was a great interview with Chris at halftime and you could tell he was enjoying himself in that big-time atmosphere at BWA! He heaped praise on Dan Gafford.

I'm linking my tweets below with photos and quotes I just got from a source about the visit (Chris and his parents visited this time, source said it went great!). Will also link my tweet with pic of '19 Hog commit Justice Hill who was there.

Thanks Kevin. Appears that he may be close to receiving that offer.

Saw him play at New Madrid Mo. jamboree a few weeks ago. One game he scored 30+ . The next he didn't play long. Competition allowed coach to play a bunch. Looked like a baller

It is not permitted  because it is an NCAA violation not just a UA policy. Sheesh!

I checked with the NCAA and was told it was not a violation. When I briefly talked to UA about it, the phrase "NCAA violation" never came up. But there are so many NCAA rules and constraints placed on the school not to promote or publicize visits by prospective student-athletes that there is no room for misunderstandings or unintentional errors, which gives UA and other D1 schools valid reasons NOT to allow media to interact with prospective student athletes while on visits. I thought that applied only to OVs, I was mistaken.

Did the U of A give you any trouble, or were they cool about it?

UA brought it to my attention, but not much time was spent on it. I did ask a couple of follow-up questions to make sure going forward there would not be similar issues.

Ohio State just ran into that issue this week because a 5 star o-line recruit hung out on the Gameday set with Herbstreit for a moment during an official visit.  In that capacity Herbstreit was considered a member of the media and not an alum.  OSU had to agree to stop recruiting him and the kid ended up going to Penn St.  Different situation but, like you said, better to be safe than sorry knowing that there are real repercussions.
