A senior at Alabama?  They need to get their facts straight.  Glad to see Coty is getting a chance with an NBA team.  He is a darned good shooter.

Good to see him getting the attention of an NBA team, even if there is virtually no chance he makes the team (they have like 17 guaranteed contracts already -- max is 15). Interested to know what his play is here. This smells like a move for the Celtics to waive him and retain his D-League rights and place him with the Maine Redclaws, but he'd surely make more money overseas. D-League offers much less money but a more direct path to the NBA. Could be worth the sacrifice and getting a training camp contract is a great sign that he's on the radar.

This is a step though.  I always believed he'd get a shot.

For Clarke, the play is to get seen doing NBA things, by NBA people.  Neither side, I would suspect, expects him to break camp with the Celtics-- but if it parlays into a D-League assignment, or a higher profile foreign deal, where he can continue to develop, then it is constructive for Coty.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
