No question Felix is a great back in his own right and we should appreciate him, but our best back..........yeah right!

DMAC is a beast.

Amen to that.  He really is.  DMAC can not cut at all.  Stiff arm, now that is a different story.  Jones really needs to be getting atleast 10 touches a game instead of 5 while DMAC gets 25.  I would love to see about 8-10 for Jones at the least and then 17 or so for DMAC.

arkjay19

McFadden should be getting inside runs and outside runs, Hillis should be the power back, and Jones should get the ball more on screens and outside runs.  Their overenfatuation with McFadden has left Hillis and Jones out of a lot of plays where they could've done better than McFadden, helped themselves look better, and helped the team more than McFadden.

jamie72921

Good post Arkhog. I think too many people are far too impressed with Dmac as well. He is a very good back however and I am glad we have him but I think we should go with the hot hand more than we currently are.

Enough to have the highest average per game in the SEC.

Felix Jones has 8.4 yards per carry.  What's DMac get per carry?  They both had 6.3 per carry last year.  If Felix were from Little Rock and DMac were from Tulsa you would think Jones was the better back.  I'm not insulting DMac, I just believe that Jones is better.  Time will tell.

bigtusk

Man, I voted for DMAC  a bunch of times (25 or more) and I couldn't get him to 6.  Didn't have any trouble with speed in voting

jamie72921

All you repeat voters should be learning by now that with your cheating you can't get him any higher. The real question is how far would he fall if you stop what you are doing?

Then why isn't Felix on ESPN's poll, or the SEC poll to start the season, why was DMac an All-American RB last year and Felix recieved the same honor, but as a kick returner?

Do all of these organizations discriminate against Felix because he's from Tulsa and not Little Rock

Frosh All american. Yawn. Usually means your team sucks because the good young backs at other schools are waiting their turn. This is a stupid thread.

Yeah, because rushing for over one thousand yards in the SEC as a freshman is soooo easy to do. I mean there were like four guys in the history of the conference to do it before DMac. Obviously he sucks.

A little testes there, aren't you? Are you Dmacs brother. Here is a list of better backs at UA. Ben Cowens, Jerry Eckwood, Madre Hill before surgery, Jesse Clark, Gary Andreson, Fred Talley, OH and Felix Jones. Cya.

You're argument is a sinking ship, which is obvioulsy why you're resorting to bringing in topics completely unrelated to the previous discussion. I never once compared DMac to any other running back in UA's history. AND...

Your post isn't based on any evidence other than your idiotic opinion?

So, tell me exactly what the point of your posts in this thread are. Do you:

A. Think DMac is overrated
B. Think DMac just plain sucks
C. Think that Hog Fans, the SEC, the NCAA, ESPN, College Coaches, National Media, CBS, etc. etc. are all wrong in their opinions of DMac and your's is correct.

What?

Clearly A. Dmac is a good college back. Just overrated by naive Hog fans, not all. By the way, your post are only based on your opinion as well. But I won't call you an idiot, though you may indeed be one.

Are you saying that all hog fans are naive, or just the ones who think that DMAC is good?

jamie72921

Not all, I think he is good. Dmac is good. I am so sick of seeing Dmac is a beast, Dmac is a monster, Dmac is a heisman candidate. It reminds of the saying about not overreacting when you score a TD, you know act like you've been there before. Some people on here act like we have never had a good running back before. I just like to gig em, but man are they irrational.

I agree that Felix should get more touches, though I'm not sure he's our best back. McFadden had a good game against Bama, no doubt. But Felix also had a pretty good game himself, rushing for 50-60 yds even though he only got about 1/5 as many carries as DMac did. I think that McFadden should definitely be the workhorse and get a lot of touches, even on a bad toe he still runs hard and punishes tacklers...but Felix has done enough with his limited carries to warrant more touches. He deserves a chance to make everyone forget about the USC game.

That poll has been closed for a while. Look at the date. Aug. 25,2006. That was for preseason.

And for the record, I don't know if McFadden is overrated. We've all seen what he can do when healthy. But I do think that he has just a little bit more to prove before he can be considered an elite NCAA back. It might take a couple more good seasons, or it might take just one breakout game against a quality opponent, but until then he's going to be "just" a very good back with the potential for greatness.

Of all the legendary running backs in SEC history, FIVE have rushed for over one thousand yards in their freshman season. DMac is one of them. People don't go as overboard in their assesment of his ability as you do in your denial.

Since 1894

The first thing I heard today was that he grew up on a pig farm. That's quite a start in my book. And my last memory was watching him hang 70 on Nebraska. Just those two facts are enough (for me to like him). Then, I hear that he's out of the Hayden Fry-Bill Snyder-Barry Alvarez coaching tree. Oh, that's enough for me to like a lot. Then, I hear he's got a 27-year-old wife. Okay, we can stop. I like him.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything since I haven't once mentioned the poll, or participated in it. All of my responses to you have been about your personal opinion of McFadden and the fans.
