My Analysis
Wofford's 3-point shooting is a major cause for concern. We'll have to tighten up the perimeter defense. The good thing about this matchup is that they have very little size with no one over 6'8, and what they do have is not very productive. None of them are shot-blockers.

The key to this game will be to feed Portis and Qualls down low and focus our defensive energy on the perimeter. Wofford likely won't get many 2nd-chance points if their 3-point shots aren't falling.

IMO, we should back off the press and limit easy looks from the perimeter. We can own them in the paint in a half-court game. That won't happen, though.

I think we'll have a gameplan to stop Wofford's 3 point shooting and we should match up very well down low.

Our only common opponent was Iona.  We won by 17.  Wofford won by 13.

I think we win 68-61.  We should beat them up on the boards and I could expect a lot of 2nd chance points.  I think our length could be a major problem for them for 40 mins.  Key to the game will be who wins the tempo battles, obvisouly we are gonna play the fastest 40 but they are very slow and methodical.  They are smart with the ball, its gonna be a fun game to watch simply because of the contrasting styles

You always get a live opponent in the 5-12 game. Concerning that they shoot well and don't commit many turnovers. Then again, they put those stats up against a soft schedule. I think Arkansas is superior, but they overlook these guys at their peril. Hopefully playing Kentucky and UGA back to back has the Hogs playing sharp.

My niece went to Wofford so I have followed them a bit over the past few years. It is a terrific small South Carolina college, great place for an education if you want something small. I would be cheering for Wofford if they weren't playing Arkansas. Beautiful campus.

As for basketball, Hogs should win by 10-20 ... if they focus and don't get nervous in their first NCAA appearance in many years.

Most of their fans seem knowledgeable, and feel their only chance is if we overlook them. However, I do find it funny that they act as if our players will overlook them and not listen to Anderson. These guys have to realize it is our first NCAAT in 7 years. Our players aren't going to overlook anyone. Also, as it has been proven all season long, this team will listen to Anderson. I think we come out focused.
