Quote from: SMB Hogfan on Yesterday at 07:11:31 pmThat's very true. If the teams in the XII; such as Kansas St., OSU, etc. are on the outside looking in; then, Ark. St. shouldn't be in the same sentence. It's not the same type of football.

Back in the mid-to-late 60's there was a push for UA to play Ark. St. among a few (very few) people. I think a legislator from up Jonesboro way tried to get a bill through the Arkansas House to force a game every year. I don't recall if Frank called in some favors (too young to know) or what. He was of the opinion that the only loser would always be UA, even if they won the game. It got as far as them putting a Razorback and an Indian on the signs giving directions to War Memorial. I went to an ASU game back then just to see. I would guess there was 10~12 thousand people, at most. I didn't even stay until halftime.

In a way, a school such as ASU could be the salvation of regional football. Schools such as this are so far separated from the Big 2½ that it only makes sense for them to compete at a more regional level.

Football isn't going to save a school like ark st because football is so expensive to run and lower level football isn't going to get much tv money.

Harding had a great season, and until the nc game had they been on tv once last season? If people can watch 20 games a week from whatever ends up being the major division, few are going to watch the lower divisons.

Quote from: raz1965 on Yesterday at 07:47:37 pmIf Cal has the NIL money that was rumored to be at his disposal then it appears he must be holding a lot back for certain targets, not that I know what has been spent but it appears he hasn't gotten into the biggest bidding wars. I'm sure Davis an Adiou got a handsome amount but doubt the others were close to million dollar players.

Would rather spend it now or wait until the guys who decide they need another year of college and pull out of draft? Cal mentioned it his presser. So I expect that happen.

Big Dan playing well vs OKC tonight. I'm not an NBA guy but have watched a little. He has 14 pts, 5 or 6 rebounds and is very active.

Not sure what JWill or Joe are doing. Haven't seen them on the floor.
